Hello everyome After much consideration, I think I've settled on what scooter I want. Some may say the classics are the apex of scooter excellence. Others might go for something a little more sporty. I want a Big Ruckus. Granted, they are discontinued and well outside what I can afford, so I'm going China on this one. That would be the SSR Rowdy 150. All in all, it will be extra work to maintain but I think it would be well worth it. Given my budget, I hope to be able to afford one in 12 months. I've got a few questions. Hopefully, someone could fill me in. From what I gather, I am assuming SSR/ZNEN (Same company?) is one of the better China brands. Is this correct? On average, would you say SSR/ZNEN scoots are more reliable? By the time I can afford one, I would be looking into a 2014 model. Do China scoots usually improve in quality and reliability with each year? Oh, and is $1,500 a good price for a shipped Rowdy 150, or should I try to find one for lower? Anyone here with a Rowdy, please share your thoughts on it. Any pics would also be very welcome and appreciated

I was looking at one about 4months ago for $950. Which I thought was a little high for a used 2 yr. old Chinese scoot with 8600 miles. I paid $950 cash for my 2009 C F moto Fashion with only 43 miles I still want a rowdy. Dave

Thanks for the link, Mike. That thread makes me happy. I wish more photos and videos were available about this scoot. That's one thing I hope to change in the future. If I were to find a used one, that would be cool. I'm not sure how often something like that pops up on Craig's List around here, but I will have to keep a look out. I think I could use the money I saved by buying used and put it towards upgrades. $1,500 sounds like a great price for a new one, either way. But yeah, this is the one. It will just be 12 months before I can afford it.

Check out this scoot with LC engine along with EFI , disc brakes F&R and a 2 year full warranty www.scootersus.com/cfmotoGLORY.html I have an Echarm which has the same engine and EFI with just over 18,000 trouble free miles . The Echarms there have a carb instead of EFI

One year old. I had to replace the mirrors as soon as it arrived because they could not be adjusted far enough out to be able to see beyond my shoulders. I am normal size. The folding seatback is ridiculous because it cannot be used and cannot be adjusted to be used let alone comfortable in any case. The license plate frame had to be modified to be able to attach a normal license plate. The thing was just way too big, almost big enough to accommodate a regular car plate. The adjustable seat is a horrible idea. The thing was bent so it never locked into place from the start. While replacing this part two bolts stripped. It is not tight still. There have been three professionals go over the thing and there still are things rattling that no one can find, it has been just chalked up to extremely cheap materials. The most frustrating part is that the kick stand and one of the tabs that come off the muffler that bolt on to the frame broke off at 100 miles and need to be welded back on. No compensation for that because they will not cover labor. The storage compartment is the cheapest plastic and the lock is tinfoil. Have to keep bending the lock back into place under normal use with nothing in there, to keep it shut, let alone locked. This is done with bare fingers. On first run through found two bolts completely missing that hold the rear wheel onto the frame and almost every one of the others had to be tightened. The materials used are so cheap the bolts or nuts strip if you tighten them with anything other than your fingers. At 200 miles the throttle cable stretched and at a traffic light slipped off the carburetor. Not a good thing to happen in traffic with no warning. The bolts stripped when installing the rubber treads on the foot plates. At about 300 miles the kick starter assembly became so loose that it had to be removed due to noise and the fear that the parts would become free and interfere with the drive belt. The headlight bulb burned out at 50 miles, both blinkers burned out at 100, it has never been in the rain and the muffler and frame already are rusting just from normal washing. You have to be extremely careful with the keys because they are made out of tinfoil. They will bend if put into a pocket and after bent the ignition will not work correctly. The tires have no traction. The drive belt disintegrated just after 2000 miles and the battery completely went dead a month after I took it out in the fall even on a trickle charge. It could not be recharged at all. Everything about this is just so insanely cheap.

My biggest complaint about this bike is the storage, or lack of storage. Scooter peeps like lots of storage, there is no storage under the seat on these bikes. Just something to consider.
It is no Big Ruckus, qaulity wise, that is for sure..... The one I worked on wasn't as bad as the above post, but as always your milage may vary.

I notice a few differences from the one I have and the one pictured. I like the foot pegs shown rather than the foot plates I have.
