This is my custom built 150cc scooter. It is a 50cc Peace Motorsports Frame with a 150cc Longbo motor from an Alien Moped. I made the motor mount to attach the engine to the frame myself as 150cc's are top mount and 50cc's are bottom mounted. I built it for about 226 dollars. 100.00- 50cc Scooter 100.00- 150cc Scooter 18.00- Stator (to get 150cc engine running) 2.00-JB Weld 4.00-Welding Wire 2.00-Grinding Wheels The 150cc motor is completley stock. It does 57-58 mph (GPS and follow by car Verified) I plan on doing a few modifications to it. I already put a free flowing air filter on it right before taking these pics and I ordered and FMF Powercore exhaust for it. (FMF is a dirtbike/atv exhaust company for those of you who aren't familiar with it)

Hey Indymoped,
$226 build? Looks like you just may take the prize for the most "bang for the buck" on the whole site! Way to go! Making something new, from bits and pieces of other vehicles is the absolute CORE value of the American hot-rodder... No matter if it was stuffing a Caddy motor into a '49 Ford "shoebox" in the fifties to make a "Fordillac", or mating a "74" knucklehead into a WWII "45" for a "shotgun" conversion... or nowadays, grafting your Chinese 150 into a Chinese 50.Since I started riding Chinese five years ago, I've always liked the styling of the 50cc scoots. Somehow, when you convert them to a 150cc, they not only become somewhat of a hotrod, but they take on a look all their own. Subtle, but it's DEFINITELY there! The cosmetic effect is VERY distantly (pretty FAR distantly, but STILL there) related to that of the old-school "T-Bone" roadsters, sixties' racing karts and even a little Harley "bobber" thrown in. Yours is SO clean, the conversion almost looks "factory"... You gotta squint out the big rear wheel and longer wheelbase. The build is SO cool, I think if it were mine, I'd have to get out the flat-black lacquer and whitewall-tire paint and "Ratify" the scoot (with the emphasis on RAT)... LOL! But that's just me... A big "two-thumbs-up" for showing us how to make a Chinese scoot into an all-American original! DEFINITELY my kind of build! I don't think there's a guy OR gal rider on any scooter site who doesn't "have a Jones" for a 50/150 conversion somewhere down the line! Leo (still a grinnin') in Texas

Thanks (Oldchopperguy and copper deer) It was a really fun project. Sometimes it got to be a pain in the as I did the whole thing myself. It's definitely not easy getting the alignment right between the front and back half and trying to tack weld the mount on at the same time. But in the end it turned out better than I thought it would.
The bottle is for my catch can. Since I just have a motorcross air filter mounted straight to the carb the valve cover breather hose cant run back into the intake so I just had it hanging there but it was spitting oil onto my CVT cover so I made myself a catch can.
Sorry for moving the thread (Hank) I just felt this was a more appropriate section for it. To answer your question I do have a motorcycle endorsement and ride it as a licensed 150cc. I am in the process of getting a title for a custom made scooter tho so I don't run into any problems as the scoot has 2 vin tags on it right now.

Good work deserves some pats on the back!We have a "conversion" so-to-speak running around here you'd surely get a hoot out of... Well, it's NOT quite a conversion, but a scratch-built scoot using an "L"-shaped billet aluminum pair of backbones, with a twin-turbocharged Accura V-6 motor pumping out somewhere around 700 ponies... I haven't seen just how the power gets to the (what looks like about a 20-inch wide) rear wheel. I think it uses the factory Accura torque-converter with no gears. I tried to speak with the rider, and he was friendly enough, but spoke NO English. I could only "pigeon" enough Spanish to establish that he built it himself, and noticed it had NO license plate. Hope I have a camera handy next time I see it!We all love the idea of stuffing something BIG into something SMALL... HeHeHe... but this one was just plain over the top, ESPECIALLY since it really WAS a SCOOTER, not a cycle. Now, enjoy that great "50-plus" you created! It's a winner!Leo in Texas

Added an aftermarket exhaust to it. It is an FMF Power Core 2 muffler from a Honda CR250. This video was just a sound test before I welded it up and built a bracket. I am not going to just ride it with the exhaust just hanging off of the exhaust studs.
I have to say I think it sounds pretty damn good. It has more of a deep rumble to it in person but my phone's mic didn't pick up on that very well apparently. But from what you can hear let me know what you think.

I know this post is a couple years old but I have a 2014 taotao atm50-a1 and it looks practically identical to this moped. I was wondering if that same mount you made would fit on my moped? If so I'd love to buy one from you or you upload a picture of the parts used and dimensions so it could be replicated.
