I know why your clutch is slipping interested or would you prefer to remain positive

I'll have to figure out why it is happening. I know it slips in second gear when trying to accelerate WOT. It could be because of the synthetic oils I use. If there's a way to adjust clutch spring tension, I could adjust it. I don't think the clutch is glazed yet.
It could be because the smaller sprocket requires lower engine RPM, and the clutch can't keep up, but what I don't understand is that it only happens in second gear acceleration, and final gear top speed. The bike is going 5-10MPH over it's stock speed with the modified sprocket, so the clutch has to handle 15% more power compared to the stock sprocket, yet when I open the throttle to WOT somewhere in the middle of 4th gear I don't have clutch slip. Which makes me believe it might not be a centrifugal problem.
It only started happening with this new oil change I did (Mobil 10W40). Previously I used different oil. It could also be because the engine was pretty warm running WOT for almost a full hour.
Anyway, too many variables now, the first to eliminate will be changing the engine oil to heavier. I might add a bit of 15W50 to it, overfilling it a little bit, to make the mixture a bit thicker. Hopefully that will help.

yeah, roketa has made quite some nice bikes. That one is with a 250cc lifan engine. They also made a sports bike with 250cc. They all look awesome for the price, but it's still more than twice the price of the MC-05-127

[replyingto=renegade]renegade[/replyingto]That bike looks cool but personally if I was going to plunk down that kind of cash I'd pay the extra and go with a Suzuki TU250x... if one could be found.... they seems to be rather scarce. I was trying to buy one before I bought my Rokita and was just met with frustration trying to find one.
In the 250cc bike class I think in the long run one would come out money ahead with the Suzuki and have a lot less aggravation. The Chinese bikes are not on the same quality or performance level as the Japanese bikes. The Suzuki would also hold it's resale value much better than the Chinese bike.
Not that I have anything against the Chinese bikes as of course I have one so maybe I am being hypocritical. The Rokita 127cc I have is kind of an exception because it is just so darn cheap. Makes it worth monkeying around with and worth a gamble. Just my 2 cents worth.

I want a TU250 also but someone said they had a hard time holding 60 mph on the thing. That sounds like a let down, if the bike can't even cruise at 65 70mph. But it is only a 250. Too bad they don't make it with a larger engine. I really like the look of the TU250x

Good point. Maybe there is a dealer close that has one.

One thing to keep in mind the Roketa mc-05-127 is ONLY $1050 delivered at your doorstep, they go for $799. Nothing beats that price, not even the TUX. For the price of the TU, you can get 4 motorcycles like the 127.
Second, since my 127, essentially being half the cc's, as it's jets are running a bit on the lean side, and the TU has fuel injection, which means if their cylinders are 250cc, the A/F that gets injected in it is more than 250cc of a carburetor (because instead of being sucked in the cylinder, it gets injected under high pressure, so more mixture will get into it),; The 127 can do 65MPH tops (when leaning forward), 60MPH average tops on level ground sitting normal, I don't think that the TU will barely be able to maintain 65. I think it's top speed is closer between 70 and 75MPH. The Fuel injected BMS TBX 260 actually got 80MPH, and that one got a CVT, no manual gears (but it is more aerodynamic). So, the TU can do much more than that. Some people have reported 85MPH on the tux with sprocket change and leaning forward.

Yes, my red 2009 TU250x could hit mph. I sold it to gentleman that flew into Tucson and rode it home to California among other places. He had to get on the interstate at one point and rode it WOT through the desert for 200 miles straight. It ran bulletproof and begged for more. The Suzuki made the entire 1200 mile trip flawlessly, it had 5700 miles on the clock when he started. By the way, I sold it to him for $1995 and he bought it sight unseen. It was in brand new condition, almost perfect, and he wasn't disappointed. Somehow, I don't think $1050 delivered for the Roketa 127cc sounds like a bargain

Here's a picture of our TU250x and SYM Wolf. Both of these motorcycle ran perfectly and never let us down. Regular oil changes and an occasional valve job was all they ever needed. We spent our time riding them wherever and whenever we wanted to, not fixing them or trying to tweak them to get them to run better.

How does the Sym compare to the zuki? ride height? top speed? acceleration and handling?

The Wolf was quick to 45 mph, but after that the Suzuki had more power. TU250x cruised nicely at 65 - 70 mph, the Wolf liked 55 mph and topped out about 70 mph. Wind and hills affected the Wolf more.
The Wolf handled better and was much lighter, the Suzuki was much more comfortable. The Wolf was better off road, the Suzuki carried a passenger better.
They were both fun and capable, just different. I liked them both, hard to choose which one was better. But I think the extra power and size of the Suzuki along with fuel injection made it more versatile overall.

Ya, cool. From the moment I laid eyes on the TU250x I was in love. It's got great retro look in a modern fuel injected engine, so you get the dependability of a great suzuki (I have owned two suzuki's before). I wish it was faster but I think or so is okay, I would probably not break that speed anyways But I do wish it were a 500 cc I guess I have to ride one.
