Hope he gets better ASAP..I stuff my dogs meds in a small piece of hotdog...small enough they dont chew. Just poke it in the center and down the hatch it goes. Maybe he's like Homer?.....MMMM Hotdog. |

WOW...Good luck to you ..My sons dog is that way to and it is a huge chore to get him to take anything...Sometimes I think he does it for the extra attention and because its funny making me do all the extra work..

if ya had a seaman wouldn't take his pill, what would ya do? maybe get him drunk and hide the pill in the peanut bowl? --
seriously, sorry to hear 'bout the kid. it's tougher when ya can't just explain that the pill will make him better so take it already

Hi
We have had a serious setback, Inuyasha stopped urinating a short while ago and was in some pain due to a stone that was in there as well and is at this moment having emergency surgery
We will know his condition in a few hours
I'm at my wits end
Please if you would , keep my little guy in your thoughts and your prayers

i pray its only a stone and they can catherize him quick
drain the bladder soon
if thats what it is, just a stone,
he will need special food and distilled water forever
just like piggers

it will be ok hank, honest injun
when Piggers had his 1st bout with 'crystals'
after spending $2500 at the emergency hospital
he still couldnt pee, nothing like stalking your kid to see
if he is using the litter box, well.
so i took him to my vet
he xrayed him and found a HUGH mass
to make it short
he did a exploratory surgery and the mass
turned out not to be cancer, just his poor lil bladder
so inflamed form infection. so he cath'ed him again and was on MAJOR antibiotics for weeks,
But i worked out.
as i said before maybe on 'its the ride'
NO more junk food, just special food and distilled water from now on

My old Vizsla got an aspirin every day. We started out with the hotdog trick. Then she got smart. She'd somehow eat the hotdog then spit out the pill. I never could figure out how she didn't swallow the pill along with the hotdog.
So we used the non-crust part of bread. Squeezed it around the pill real tight. But we'd always give her a hotdog bite afterwards for a reward.
Hank, I don't know how big Inu's pills are. But you might try the bread trick. You just squeeze it 'til it's basically solid around the pill.
Meanwhile, saying prayers for a successful surgery and full recovery for Inu.
Here's hope for you--my Viz developed a kidney infection. At the time, there was no such thing as doggy-dialysis. Vet gave us some pills (yep, more bread) and had us feed her rice for a week, then Hill's Prescription Diet dogfood. When he ran the next set of tests, she had healed. No sign of any infection, two perfectly fine kidneys.
So prayers, and a solid healthy constitution to start with, can make miracles. That, and a good vet's skills.
