My kick start came apart should I fix it or just take it all out. I have only used it a few times it felt cheap anyway but never know when I may need it.

Fix it...you need it as a back up. When there tiny batteries go bad or die..they usually just 'give up the ghost'..with no fore warning. The kick starters must be used gently. The reason they break or strip is because if it does not fire the scoot the first few tries...peeps use them as a 'Stomp Starter'...with their foot way above the kicker...then STOMP down like they are kicking and old 1945 Harley Pan Head. I have seen folks jump up in the air to come down on the kicker!!no either.. 1. Important thing I do to all customer scoots no matter what it is in for regarding repair...is remove the kicker...turn it up higher about 10 degrees more so instead on angled like this -- it is angled like this / <-- see how that higher angle is? It gives you 2 compression strokes per kick vice one...they way they come from the factory. 2. Another important thing... Don't just kick it...slowly with your foot push it until you are just about on a compression stroke. Because all too often with the kicker in this position -- vice this position / you are kicking on the exhaust stroke or somewhere in between the two...which of course will not get 'er started. ;D

i have seen people jump on the kick start too use them as stomp starters gonna take a vid when it happens again its a crack up millsc...I call those a "Spud Webb" Start.. remember Spud...Pro Basketball player that was only 5' 7"...but he had a 40" vertical jump...flat footed on the ground he could jump 40 inches!!! A shortie like me that could slam dunk..that jump of his was unreal to watch. They held a yard stick up to the wall..standing flat foot he jumped WELL above it! That is how some folks kick start their scoot...they put on their 'Air Jordans' tennis shoes...do a Spud Webb jump...come down on the kicker and literally rip them right out of the side cover. Then bring it to my shop n say.."Look at that..case broke..whole kicker came out...piece of .".... As Kung Foo would say.."Gently..always gently grasshopper".....
