so my stock belt is an 821-20-30 but it appears that most common is 842 and i hear thats an upgrade however that sounds like a really big jump, can any one verify this works or should i get the 835?

Yes that is a big jump an 842 from a 821 is close to an 1 inch more in length that is to long.
You can go with the 835.

thats what im so confused about, other people with the same long case gy6 scooter engine have used 842's and say they work.. what would be the effecting factor, my guess would be that just on low load it would be a little loose because on my variator face i still have a little ways to go up and it seems the belt might be too short, and on scrappydogscooters it says 842 is a replacement for 835's, :/ just unsure of what i should order.. maybe ill order them all and get a definitive answer

Alley, with my desires to change to performance variator, change to K&N performance air cleaner, and purchase a freer flowing exhaust, and of course change that jet, am i going to need to purchase a larger belt? I have a long case GY6. Please Help me get there correctly my friend......Bill
