I have a new Tornado Trike with only 200 miles on it that dies when you give it any throttle. It will idle like normal but as soon as you give it gas it stalls. Any ideas what could be causing this to happen?

Sounds like to much air and not enough gas, check to see if any hoses came loose as well as the AIR FILTER TUBING connection to your carb. If everything is connected no AIR LEAKS then adjust your FUEL RATIO MIXTURE.
1. Turn it CLOCKWISE until it stops(COUNT THE NUMBER OF TURNS IT TOOK TO STOP) do not force it, it has a point on it just until it stops. 2. Then turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE 2 1/2 turns and try that. That is a good starting point. If it acts good you can fine tune it form there to GET THE HIGHEST IDLE AFTER IT WARMS UP AT LEAST 5 MINUTES IDLEING.
Alleyoopl 2. Then

Where do you find the fuel mixture adjustment on the 2013 Tornado 300cc? Do you mean the idle adjustment screw?

I have looked for a fuel mixture screw and I see only flat brass covering in the location you described in your link. Is it possible that I have a plugged fuel ratio screw? My carb looks identical to the 250 carb big right model you show. I'm frustrated.

Depending which carb you have, the 250s+ have the 30-32mm carbs and those the Fuel Ratio Mixture is in front and UNDERNEATH the carbs Intake(PITA TO GET AT). Those usually have a PLASTIC piece you have to pull off to get at the SCREW.
If you scoot is 50-150+ then your carb is most likely a 24mm Carb and some newer ones come with the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw ACTUALLY PLUGGED. It is a brass piece that is about 1/8 thick. You have 2 choices either drill the plug out or get an aftermarket carb which come without the screw plugged. Alleyoop

Yes, it is a 300cc trike so I am thinking it is the 30-32 mm carb. Thanks Alleyoop, I will look at it again when I get home from work. Lapper

Hey Alleyoop, if it does have the plastic piece on it that I must remove, will I be able to adjust it on the trike or will I have to remove the carb? Thanks. Lapper104

HAHAHA, told you it was a PITA But if you can get your hand or fingers underneath there you can do it while it is running. If you have one of those screwdriver sets that you stick the kind of screw your dealing with you can use that. Another way so you do not have to take it completely off is just loosen the clamps and rotate it enough to get at the screw set it rotate it back STRAIGHT and tighten the clamps. Alleyoop You can use this or make a your own with a long handle on it, actually they sell the stupid things.

Looked again with a mirror under carb but there is no plastic piece, only a brass covering. I must have one of the newer carbs that they plugged. Looks like I will be taking it off anyway! I will give you an update~! Lapper104

Drilled out plug to accesss fuel/mixture screw. It was open about 3 1/4 turns. Closed it and opened up 2 1/2 turns, still have same result. Engine will idle but choke out when throttle is turned. Fuel filter is clear. Any other ideas? Lapper104

I do get some throttle and can raise the RPM's right after it starts cold, then it die out again when I release the throttle. Still wondering what it can be...any ideas Alleyoop?

The Idle may be set to low, TURN THE IDLE SPEED SCREW clockwise about 1/8 of a turn and see if it stays idling. When you first start it up the IDLE should be pretty high maybe about 2000-2300 rpms or so then as it warms up within 3-4 minutes or so the idle should drop down to around 1800-2000 rpms. Alleyoop
