Yes, that's it! I kinda figured it out..that small plastic part w/small spring was actually inside the big spring. Somehow it worked its way far enough up the big spring that there was no tension on the needle and the needle came out of the seat in the bottom of the carb. I also pulled out the fuel/air ratio screw and ran a wire through the hole. It is back together and running!!!!!! I took about a mile ride and seems okay. Might need to readjust fuel/air mixture screw a little bit. Just happy it stays running and I can ride again. Thanks for your help! Keeping my fingers crossed.

NO, the needle was not in the guide, that's what caught my attention because it was on an angle. How do you attach photos here? That diagram does not look like the carb I have. In your 4TS carb tuning link shows my carb.

Hey Alleyoop...do you have a breakdown diagram of the 4ts carb that shows diaphragm components and positioning? I think I might have found the problem. Would the pin being out of position cause the trike not to run if it is not seated in lower section of carb? Lapper104

Yes, I have contacted them about this and the exhaust. The exhaust pipe weld was cracked where they joined the 2 pipes together and they told me they think that is the cause of my problem. Yes, it is still under warranty but they don't seem to know sh**! I took off the carb and noticed the diaphragm needle not seated into hole in the lower portion of the carb. Removed screws holding in diaphragm and there was a plastic piece with a small spring that was wedged in the middle of the larger spring and I think this piece is supposed to hold down the needle into the lower section of carb, and the larger spring holds down the small plastic piece with the smaller spring. Looking for a diagram for this carb to verify positioning of these components. It looks like the 4TS in the linc supplied by Alleyoop with the gold cover on top of diaphragm. Where can I get a break down diagram to confirm components position?

Thanks Jim, I really didn't want to remove the carb but it looks like I am running out of options. When the bike died, it was running for a while and just stopped. I only have 261 miles on the bike and I am not real happy with it. It does start and idles fine but after it heats up a little bit it just dies when I give it throttle. I waited 7 months for the bike and now that I have it I cannot ride it. Very frustrating. I will never buy another Chinese bike again and will probably unload it (if) after I get it running. I will pull the carb and see what happens. I will let you know. Thanks again for your suggestions. Lapper104

Yes, it does idle okay..but it seems after it idles and warms up that the engine stalls when I give it throttle. Still seems like it's not getting enough fuel or too much air. I can start it and it will stay idling for long time until I give it the throttle. It has to be something simple. Do you think it has anything to do with the ACV or the en richer valve? Is there a way to check them to see if they are operating correctly?

I do get some throttle and can raise the RPM's right after it starts cold, then it die out again when I release the throttle. Still wondering what it can be...any ideas Alleyoop?

Drilled out plug to accesss fuel/mixture screw. It was open about 3 1/4 turns. Closed it and opened up 2 1/2 turns, still have same result. Engine will idle but choke out when throttle is turned. Fuel filter is clear. Any other ideas? Lapper104

Looked again with a mirror under carb but there is no plastic piece, only a brass covering. I must have one of the newer carbs that they plugged. Looks like I will be taking it off anyway! I will give you an update~! Lapper104

Hey Alleyoop, if it does have the plastic piece on it that I must remove, will I be able to adjust it on the trike or will I have to remove the carb? Thanks. Lapper104

Yes, it is a 300cc trike so I am thinking it is the 30-32 mm carb. Thanks Alleyoop, I will look at it again when I get home from work. Lapper

I have looked for a fuel mixture screw and I see only flat brass covering in the location you described in your link. Is it possible that I have a plugged fuel ratio screw? My carb looks identical to the 250 carb big right model you show. I'm frustrated.

I have a new Tornado Trike with only 200 miles on it that dies when you give it any throttle. It will idle like normal but as soon as you give it gas it stalls. Any ideas what could be causing this to happen?
