what size dirt bike tire/hub in comparison to the scooter tire ? also how do your brakes work front drum or disk ? now most importantly (besides pics)do you feel you have the tools/skills scary to adapt it if it doesn't just bolt right up?anything can be connected if you have the right tools. i feel wrong saying it but someone with skills isn't even necessary anymore with the Internet and practice...good luck let me know what you decide i like doing what most wouldn't want to attempt, keeps me out of trouble.

Dirt bike tires are not street legal for very good reasons. You may find one that fits and is tubeless though adding a tube is possible

well my rims are 12 inches and there are a lot of 12 inch dirt bike tires out there. i am just gonna let the shop put them on. because you need some tools to get the tires in and out. i dont mind if it is not street legal, i like to ride off road

If you wanna ride off road mostly I would highly recommend you sell your moped and get a pit bike. Mopeds are not designed to go off road and they ride horribly. The suspension is designed to absorb bumps on a road not larder bumps off road. Anyways if you really do want to put the dirtbike tire on it make sure the tire you get is speed rated to at least "J" (62mph) so you don't have blowout. And if the tire you get needs a tube have a tube with you when you go to the tire shop as they most likely are not going to carry 12inch tubes.

I don't think a scooter would hold up off road long

He is taking "ride it like you stole it" to the next level guys let him enjoy it. Wear your gear as catastrophic bike failure is quite possible... Pics will be required of your massive offroad air

Dirt bike tires are not street legal for very good reasons. You may find one that fits and is tubeless though adding a tube is possible I don't believe dirt bike tires are street illegal. There are many crossover motorcycles, that are both for dirt and the road, and they still have the big grated tires.

sounds like a case of massive scooter-abuse. off-roading for scooters consist of; no mirrors, slime, xtra sprk-plug/s, belts, brake levers/mstr cil, and cables if needed. Also, frame supports, adjustable over-sized fr shocks, dual rearshocks adjustable damp and rebound, electric fuel pump reliable. you might as well go fuel inject. A pressured gas-tnk and anything eles I missed for the engine to run better under those condish. You definatly want to streangthen the frame and shocks cause they're going to take most of the beating. But, on the other hand you got a one piece engine/swing-arm setup so there's going to be lots of twisting in the rear. you just might break a case. Now, Indys' got it right get a pit bike, dirtbike, or an enduro. safer ride, safer for the pocket, and safer for you.

The problem I have noticed when "off roading"(trail to get to barn where I store it) is that the engine on these scooters is the swingarm, and since the carb is mounted on the engine then the carb is with the engine in somewhat unsprung weight, meaning it doesnt benifit from the suspension, so what Ive noticed is that when you hit the big bumps the float likes to stick, this wouldnt be as much of a problem is the carb was "sprung weight." Some sea foam in the tank does help the sticking float a bit.
