Filing a set of 16X13 because 2T use 15X12. So I filed the 16X13 to 12mm wide and they were still 16mm tall vice 12mm tall. Make sense now? It makes the newly made 2T sliders 1mm taller than stock..but end of travel due to their shape they come out a bit over 2mm taller. Ok..now for the 4t 18X14 sliders filed down to 13mm wide to fit a 4 T which has 13mm wide sliders..they are still 18mm tall vice 16mm tall like stock gy6 50 rollers. Make sense now?. That is why ya can't buy Dr pulley or any slider..cause they don't come in 16X12 for a 2T and 18X13 for a 4T. Ya getting it ? ;D Since the sliders you just 'made' are taller..you now get more lift. They fit flush still under the CVT pressure plate..but as they start to move you get 1mm more lift on the 16X12 2T weights..and 2mm more on the 18X13 4T weights. Once you reach the end of the CVT ramp where it gets steep suddenly....the 1mm extra on the 2T becomes more than 1mm due to their elliptical shape so you get the belt higher on the CVT for a better high speed ratio. Same on the 4t with sliders sized down to 18X13 vice 18X14. They are now 18mm high vs 16mm high. At idle and low speed they still ride low enough under the CVT pressure plate as to no take away your bottom end. Again..as they progress up the ramps the lift becomes higher than the stock 16mm high one...then at end of travel they have closed you CVT more so your belt ride higher..giving you better top end. My 2T and my gf 4T we both gained 8-10 mph.. no joking..no . Tell ya what bro..you have been a friend with me on here a long time. Tell me what weight you run in your 4t 50mm an 52mm scoots. I will send you a set of modded weights..FREE..you try them..they report back to us here. You are going to be blown away by the difference. Check with alleyoop..he and were both having the same brain storm at the same time about this. His 150 uses 18X14..he found some weights from some oddball scooter that are already made so to speak...as they are 20X14..so he does not have to file anything down. Look at this as well...our 2T use 15X12's..when we buy a Hoca variator they use a 16X13..1mm taller than the 15X12 stock 2T ones. What do people report with the Hoca CVT? Great take off and much higher top end...and whys is that? Well besides a different ramp angle they also use a taller weight..which gives more lift...which gives more top end. I notice nobody has commented on this "Interesting experiment part 2" cause it is thinking outside the box maybe? All too often we get caught up in "We have always done it like this" or.."Well..that's just the way things are" Always done like this and just the way things are..is because we are stuck not trying to think outside the box. Which is way Japan,Germany,Italy and many other countries are ahead of us technology wise. As we say.. Odd that nobody has tried this after reading the post...but then it is 'different'..outside the box thinking..and not bought off the shelf or purchased from a vendor or Ebay...so it can't work..lol.. ;D Sad but true. Ok ...somebody out there..that runs a 50-100 2t or 4T stock or BBK with sliders. Tell me what weight you run and I will send a new 'modded' set for free. Try them and tell us what ya think.

But...

How do you figure the difference in the final drive ratio doing this versus just getting a longer belt that will go to the outer edge of the variator. I have an idea what you will say and it seems like the longer belt might not be a answer to maximizing the performance.

You were right...lol..I do have something to say about that. I tried several longer belts..one was so big it popped off the variator...2nd try with that belt it came off again and got caught up n shredded. With a 798 belt vs the normal 788 running it with cover off...I noticed it did ride higher on the CVT.but not as deep in the clutch pulley for some reason. Maybe the extra 10mm gave it too much slack??. Also I don't figure the final drive ratio..only do that on a tranny gear swap. All I gotta say is try it... urbanmadness....you don't need to put your stock variator back on..it works with performance ones too..unless it is the Hoca as they use 16X13mm..so the filed down on the sides to make them 16X12 slider weights will not work. Not sure if this will work on rollers as I have not tried it. But my Nephew has rollers and he is milling his down right now. He is using a drill press and grind wheel...lil wuss..I did it the manly way..by hand..using a Mill File... ;D

Longer belt will balance out and start riding out on the clutch sheave. You need the extra tension on the belt from the additional pressure closing up the front sheave to keep the belt driven all the way down to the center of the rear sheave to get to the final drive ratio required to increase the MPH.

If you filled the side they would be 18x13 not 16x14
