New Honda Ruccus and Yamaha Zumas for 2100.00
The Zumas are 2 stroke with auto oil injection...no need to mix gas and oil...Started thinking about those scoots!

I believe either one would last you pretty much forever, or 'til you die, whichever comes first. I haven't shopped around, but they both also sound like decent prices. And way better deals than the jacket for $5000. I'd say get one of those, and settle for a $2500 jacket .... >'Kat

Liquid cooling is way better than air, although I read there's more potential for something to break. But that I think was also in regards to Chinese not a Yami.
Did you talk with the insurance agent yet? Are they giving you enough for ALL your medical, plus the Yami?
Btb, please do NOT settle right away. The scooter they'll pony up for right away. Make them cover all your current medical costs. Then wait for a bit and make sure there's nothing hiding or lingering. Then finish up with the final settlement including pain and suffering. Don't take their first offer there, either. If you know any legal person, get some off the record advice (trust me, not worth hiring anyone!). Ask for a general ballpark amount they'd shoot for if they were handling this as a case. Counter with that. You'll end up somewhere in the middle with both sides feeling happy they got a decent deal.
At least that's how it went for when we got rear-ended in Mom's car.
Keep eyeing that Yami, and stay away from those $5000 jackets!

Ive seen the insureds deck sheet. Her policy has a maximum of 10k for bodily injury and no additional coverages for medical so it looks like their offer of 10k maxes that out.

I don't know how insurance works. I would think though if you were hurt by her for more than $10k, somebody that isn't you nor your insurance should still be responsible.
Also, make sure that offer does NOT include replacing your totaled vehicle. That should come completely separate from the medical.
So how's the healing now?

Scabbing up so its healing. The range of motion in my knee is limited now. Still burns like mad.
Her insurance is the minimum liability in FLA. 10k per accident for property damage and 10 per accident for injuries. The insurance offered the max out of the gate due to circumstances...suv vs scooter with no real viable claim she was sun blinded etc... just sloppy driving. The cam on the bank across the street shows her just sitting ...and sitting...then just as i approach she goes.
The bike is separate. Since the T3's are available for 600.00 and parts alone to restore plus labor would be about the same. Ill buy a new bike. So im going to either keep or sell it. Be nice to have a complete parts list on hand just in case though!

So sounds like you can go splurge on that Yami if you want. Sweet ride, I've heard tell....
Heck, you could even splurge on that $5000 jacket--oops, you already got new gear, suppose not then. ;D
Do NOT pick at those scabs, no matter how itchy or stiff they get. And as soon as the dr says it's okay, start with the lotion like I described. My first carpal tunnel dr told me at least a couple times daily. I decided "at least" meant minimum, so did it way more often. And like I said, you only see any scar at all if you know there's one to look for. Vitamin E and aloe. Although bad as those look, I'm betting you'll still end up with some scarring. But we can try to minimise how bad, right?

You really should call Morgan Law or similar. They will deal with everything and get you the settlement you deserve. Remember in Florida a husband is responsible for his wife and childrens (if they still live at home a good portion of the year) actions so if their policy gets maxed out the head of the housholds insurance can be tapped to make up the difference.

Check with a lawyer. While her POLICY may top out at $10,000, her LIABILITY does not. That means that she is personally responsible for any monies her insurance policy will not cover. Do not just guess, go to a personal injury lawyer. Most of them don't charge money until you settle. And from what you say it is pretty clearly her fault.

Word to the wise.... If you live in FL i'd make sure i were 't carrying the 10k minimum for bodily injury. Thats ridiculous and could bankrupt you in a red hot minute if you ever seriously hurt someone.
