[replyingto=skuttadawg]skuttadawg[/replyingto]Kevin..thanks and kewl. I learned sumpin even. I thought they test ran the engines after the Scoot was completely built. But they don't...they are bench run and tested with their mini Dyno. That was the Znen company...and very clean..nice and pristine it was. I wonder how many of the other scoot companies compare to this....or are they made and assembled in an old run down abandoned warehouse I wonder..

I've seen similar videos of the Loncin factory, where my scoot was built, and while it is not a Japanese-style plant, it is no "old run down abandoned warehouse" either. (In fact, it seems a tad more high-speed than this one.) Neither is the Italika assembly plant in Toluca, Mexico, where Loncin scooters and motorcycles are assembled for sale throughout Latin America.

What I noticed was there was very little automation whereas a robot did 'whatever'. The only thing I saw was the pipe bending machine, and a drillpress, and little else.
But, most of the work was done by hand, to include the painting, and smothing the edges of the plastic.
And, most everyone was smiling. Happy employees??? I assume so.
Any complaing about poor quality materials isn't these folks's fault. They're assemblers. The don't pour the mold of pot metal parts.
How many Americans would be content doing ANY of these jobs?
Not supporting out sourcing, just saying.....

They looked like a cross between spray painted popcorn and the worst case of teenage acne you ever saw. (i'll bet they made sure their best welder was there for the filming.)
