Hi all. Any of you geniuses have any advice on removing and replacing my carb ? I am one of the lucky ones that got a scoot with a carb that has the fuel ratio fuel screw SEALED so it can not be adjusted with out drilling out the metal seal the manufacturer covered up the screw with.I understand that it can be drilled out ,but to do that ,the carb has to be removed, and then I hear that the screw may NOT have a slot in it to adjust with. So I ordered a new carb and I don't want to screw it up on instillation. I did read on You Tube that you needed to remove the air filter box.Is that correct? My carb is right on top of the engine except for the air intake tube ,there shouldn't be much of a problem. My only concern is removing the throttle control and resetting it correctly. I just thought there may be a correct way of reconnecting the control unit without too much trouble . OH yes this is the Chinese scoot 50cc I have been working of for the last few months ,It runs great except I think it does need a tweak on the fuel ratio .Kind of misses when I first start it ,hence adjust the fuel ratio screw . Am I thinking right? thanks Attachments:

It is not rocket science, you might be able to take it off without taking the air box off but then you also might have to force something and tear the intake manifold or your intake tube.

Your 2T with a TK is sealed ? Mine is not sealed and I can make changes by only loosening the screw on the intake adapter and turn it without removing the seat bucket or body panels

Hey there- I have a history of takng a simple 1 hour job and ending up spending a week to finish it. The throttle control adjustment will be no problem ?

Ooops misread your name my bad . Look on You Tube for a how to video . I bought the Haynes Chinese scooter repair manual is a great item to have . Take pictures each step will help if you get stuck . Some drill off the air screw cover which can be risky but to me its worth it to be an unsealed carb

It is easy and easy to get it back in the right position again.
1. Notice how much FREE travel you have on the THROTTLE GRIP it should be about 1/4 inch or so of FREE PLAY BEFORE it actually pulls the CONTROL WHEEL by the carb.
You see two nuts holding the cable on the bracket, UNSCREW the bottom nut all the way and then with your hand twist the wheel that the CABLE is attached to back giving it slack and pull the Lead ball out of the slot. Then just pull the whole cable out of the bracket.
Now you can put the CABLE into the new carbs bracket, turn the control wheel by hand and slip the lead ball into the wheels slot then tighten the bottom nut.
Now just slip the carb into the INTAKE MANIFOLD make sure it is straight and all the way in and tighten the clamp, put the Air Filter tubing back on and check the FREE PLAY at the THROTTLE GRIP see if you have some Free Play before it pulls on the Control wheel. Alleyop
