I have a new to me 2008 MC-54-250B. I love this scooter and I have been riding the heck out of it, and now have a few questions. BTW, mine is 257 Linhai powered. 1. What size is the fuel tank? I put in 2.1 gallons to fill it from the red zone. 2. Is there any way to make the speedometer read accurate? New gear, Honda Reflex head or drive? (GPS varified about 20% slow) 3. I had to take all the rear plastic off to adjust the valves(not too bad and runs great), I noticed that the rear shocks have 2 mounting positions, mine are in the forward ones. Why? would it help make it smoother to move them to the rear? Would Honda Reflex shocks bolt on and make it smoother. They look the same. I changed out the oil and gear oil to Royal Purple full synthetic (@700 miles) and put in a new plug after adjusting the valves. I read that the factory coolant is no good, is that true? I also read to use either Prestone that mixes with all types or Zerex Z05? What is best to use? I want/need this scooter to be as reliable as possible and don't mind splurging on the good stuff to make it happen. What else can I do to help keep it going for the long haul? I am a Mechanic(certified), but on Aircraft, heavy equipment and auto/diesel. I have not worked on bikes much, but ready to dig in. Thanks for your help, Scott

Yes, basicly. However the specs say it has a 3.9 gallon tank and I don't think that is right. I know the fuel gauges are not accurate in these things but I was empty according to the gauge and it only took 2.1 gallons to fill. Earl on the old forum had the same issue, only took 2.5 gallons to fill his. Just wanted to know if anyone knew what the real capacity was.

I have the same scoot ,with the JCL name and fuel tank is 3.4 gal i know when my reads close to 1/4 it will take around 2 gal to fill it up and i put rod in the tank and im sure there was atleast 1 gal in there ,so i dont believe the guage is accurate .

It appears the specs are also wrong on the high side, which does not surprise me one bit. Dealers change the specs all the time to make things better than they really are. Alleyoop

When I got my trike. I put in a gal [at home] (3.2 tank) and it still ready MT and the light flashing. Went to the gas station and filled er up. And it read one bar below full. Then rode it and it went to full, then down a bar, then I knew it was telling me something, so I stopped at a bar. So, , gas and go. Enjoy the ride.
