I have one of those on my Trike even though my instrument panel has a built in Tach. Just bought it to try it out. What I see is that at Idle it registers the same or close to my built in one. But as I crank on it it shows about 300-400 higher rpms higher than my instrument tach. So I really do not know which is closer to the right rpms the motor is cranking at. I would assume the instrument tach is the one that is off due that signal being picked up to early in the cycle of firing the plug. Alleyoop

Look likes it's functional at least. I guess for $35 it's worth a shot. Just didn't want a handle bar tach like my Sabre Attachments:
