I just got a brand new TaoTao Lancer 150cc. It is nice and shiney (of course its's new). I have a used chinese scooter that I bought used. The finish on the used scooter is oxidized and the plastic is brittle. The clear plastic instrument gauge panel is so glazed over I can't read it while riding. The scooter was purchased in Florida from a beach scooter rental business. I am sure it was parked everyday in front of the business in direct sunlight.
What can I do to the painted plastic and clear instrument cover to prevent or at least delay this type of deterioration on my new scooter? I am riding this scooter to work and back everyday. The scooter will be exposed to the sun when I am working.
Please advise, Thanks

I just bought a leftover 2017 Kymco People GT 300i, and now I know what to apply to the plastics! Kymco is not Vespa, you see - no metal panels - a lot of plastic...
