Hello Everyone, new member here and hopefully soon to be an owner of either a 149cc Tao Tao model Quantum Tour, Powermax or Lancer, I simply need it to go to work and back about a mile away. I realize these bikes are you get what you pay for type of quality, but after having done extensive research, I can live with the hands on wrenching.
I know I have to change the oil/gear oil ASAP as well as perhaps the CDI and spark plug, as well as the rubber lines and perhaps the valve stems on the tires. Apart from that, and checking the valve clearances, they should be good to go right?
Thank you all for having me and I hope to learn much from you all.

Just something to ponder . . . Powermax 150 muffler attachment design leaves a lot to be desired! Many (but not all) similar 150 IceBear's and Znen's utilize a 2-strap muffler hanger design. But the elements of both designs are subject to heat cycling and vibration fatigue . . including the 2 header pipe cap-nuts on the cylinder head vibrating loose. Performance CDI's and ignition coils are typically a waste of money . . 15W-40 oil works just fine!
