And, no more bike. Got run off I-30 by a semi last weekend, crashed the bike. And, I'm done. Going to the DMV today, having the M endorsement taken off my license. That sucks, hope yer ok. How many years have you been riding Bikes? About five.

Did something really stupid, got another Sportster. Not stupid... Just human. Once bikes are in one's blood, they stay there. My scoot has been down now for months. I've had a stroke, my Wife has had a stroke. Sometimes I can't even walk straight without grabbing onto a wall... LOL! I've seriously considered quitting riding entirely. Then, I see "Minnie Mouse" languishing in dirt, not running... And as soon as weather and health permits I'll be back wrenching to see if I can breath new life into her. When I get so off-balance that riding is dangerous, I'll probably go to a 3-wheeler. Just gotta get that wind on the old knuckles once in a while! Ride safe, and have a bone on the OCG!

"My scoot has been down now for months."
If I lived closer, I'd come help you out with Minnie Mouse, Leo. My wife's scoot was down for about 3 weeks in December but I was able to get it sorted out.

No Jaraxle. Getting a second Buell would be really stupid. The Sportster is a very useful machine.

Hey, many thanks! I'll know more as soon as I can install another new starter solenoid, battery and see what happens. Worst case, I may have fried the starter and/or stator, alternator or other electrics. If so, my dealer will help me out (especially since it was the solenoid he sold me that did the dirty deed... LOL!)
It IS irritating that a $10 defective new part may have destroyed $500 worth of good working original parts... LO not so L... This is the first problem I've had with Minnie in seven years! It's been too cold, wet, etc. to work outside, and both me and the missus have had a lot of health issues to boot... I'll post whatever I find, as soon as I can get the new solenoid and battery in... If the old scoot is still DOA... Well, it's off to the shop. Ride safe! Leo

No matter what I do, it is guaranteed to be wrong. Therefore, me getting another bike was wrong. I should have taken the motorcycle endorsement off my license.

Once you hit the road all doubts will disappear. Riding is its own medicine.

Crashing is part of riding motorcycles/scooters, you can't avoid that, it will happen no matter how careful you are, the goal should be to be prepared to get few or no injuries at all when it happens, with professional riding training and wearing all the proper gear.

You have been listening to your wife too much, Jarlaxle. You've got to learn to tune her out (when necessary).
