About 2 weeks ago my throttle cable snap, after i fix that the engine runs poor starts but then dies after 2 min, also a Pst! Pst! sound that seems to come from the carb, first thing that come in my mind was an air leak so i take everthing apart check everything but i dont see anything, i buy a new carb since it was old then the problem persist so i replace the intake manifold and also put a good quality sealant on the rubber O ring, the fuel hoses was already new but i double check everything but still the same sound and when i give throttle it dies. Very strange because before the throttle cable snap everything was working perfect, Any help would be welcome

From what you say is sounds like a vacuum leak Maybe you have a cracked line ? Check for a hose knocked loose

Always prudent to begin GY6 engine troubleshooting by checking timing, to verify crankshaft-flywheel woodruff key has not sheared, and valve clearance.
Insert a probe into sparkplug hole, position piston at top-dead-center, observe if flywheel T-mark is aligned with case indicator . . then check valve clearance.
The gremlin could also be ignition related . . . at least remove one of the flywheel fan bolts and blow in compressed air to clear out stator dirt.

don't feel bad, mine hasn't run in weeks, stator went, at the same time, the cdi failed, the coil failed, the starter failed, the battery failed, belt was shot, rollers flat spotted, fuel petcock is failing, muffler clogged, and something went wrong in the carb, finally got it to run, and I discover my new stator has no AC outputs and is DOA, only 2000 miles

DC only is still workable as long as the battery gets charged at 13 to 14 volts every thing can run at that The AC Is really just for the headlights.

My only option i think is to look inside the engine cause from what i read i may have bad piston rings, winter is coming so i have some time on my hands and first of all i need to test the compression but i dont have the tool for it right now
