Anyone know of anywhere that sells a fuel cap for these scooter tanks with a float/level gauge on it?

Might research a lawnmower-style "stepped prism" design.

Might research a lawnmower-style "stepped prism" design. I have never seen those types of gauges, learn something new every day. Now if i can find one to fit my tank i'll be a happy camper... Or at least i wont be pushing my bike home or to the nearest fuel station

You could keep a small note pad under your seat, note odometer miles/km at each fill up. Wouldn't be long before you knew how far, was too far between fuel stops. Or, carry some kind of stick in the scoot, pull the cap, and take a reading, before venturing off.
I've never run out of fuel......but to have to push a scooter or bike down the road, just for the lack of fuel in the tank, must really ruin your day. Hope I never experience that first hand.

I did away with my spedo, go by hours on my tach for oil changes. Every 8hrs operation time it gets a lifeblood transfusion. Working on incorporating an old ruggedized smartphone i have as a speedo/nav/entertainment system.
