2013 125cc cali classic, im the second owner, over 8k miles on it. When i got it, it ran fine. Then it wasnt going above 50mph so i changed the oil, gear oil and cleaned the filter. now it wont exceed 50 mph after having some initial issues, the motor would lose power after 35mph, but it somehow fixed itself but now if i go down a hill at my new top speed of 50 and it exceeds it the motor bogs down and keeps not wanting to go faster. My first thoughts are carb needs cleaning or fuel lines spout? It runs just fine idling and under 45 mph. Any thoughts? Thank you for any help!

No mention of checking belt-width wear? Considering the inconvenience of a road-side shredded belt . . 5,000 mile belt change preventative-maintenance intervals is not unreasonable. The maintenance guide specs 7440 miles.

The maintenance guide specs 7440 miles. This if you've never put a new belt on it. While you got the cvt open, check the rollers for flat spots and replace as neccesary. Also check clutch pad wear/glazing
