I went on an 18 mile run today and she ran perfect. New Gates belt-NGK plug-oil/gear oil change-exhaust-GPS speedometer and a tank of gas. I held my own running 50-57 mph (GPS). On a flat stretch I held 50 mph at 8000 rpm so the gear change will put me to my sweet spot and may stay with factory style tire but Michelin brand. I noticed the clutch bell had a little wobble (Bad machine work) and may replace it with a better brand. Still only have 300 kl on the Chinese odometer.
Each time I go out I travel a little farther just to test myself and the scooter. My R.A. (Rheumatoid Arthritis) gets the best of me at times.

Gears are in and much better. 60 mph (GPS) in a head wind. They had 12/40 gears in it; stock setup. Lower rpms for the runs so far all under 8000 rpm and just riding. No more 8000-9000 rpm runs lol. I knew the gear change would do the trick. Now to finish breaking here in to see if I need to tweak the motor or if she can handle the runs and load. 3.33 final gear ratio stock to 2.31 ratio performance gears. She is not as buzzy sounding or feeling running 55 mph up hill and smooth as can get. i hope to get a camera set up to record some of the runs showing the GPS and Chinese speedometer with the tachometer in one shot. I have a cheap NABI camera but no mount yet. Heedehcheenuh Chuck D Ride on.....

Just went back out running 62.8 mph GPS in the head wind tucked and grinning lol yes things work out when you plan around a setup that you want. She is not as snappy out of the hole anymore, just smooth, and lowered the rpm down so now I can calculate the rollers/sliders - tires- and cold air adjustment I want. I may put the baffle back in the exhaust to see if there is any difference with vrs without it.

OK I hit a wall ... sort of. I have done a few runs and she has maxed the torque and speed at 50-53 mph (GPS) up hill around 7000-7200 rpm. Do I need more air / fuel / or both? Lets say stock is 24mm and I am looking into the polished intake with a 26mm-28mm (not to large) carb to get more air and both carbs can be had with jets to richen or learn her out (I prefer rich to save motor). Also what is up with the cam ratios?!?! I know small block Chevy cams- heads-intake performances but I am new to the scooters lol. I know the gear ratio will be best for the BBK in the future but right now I am looking at carb / intake / air filter to change that will work with the 150cc and be adjustable with the BBK in the future. I have been down and out for over a week now (R.A. has kick my butt big time) from my left knee and leg being swollen the size of a volley ball. The motor is sill not broke in yet , still under 500 miles, and I want to ride ... so bad. The weather also has been picking at me but hey that happens living in the south east.

Link to video of me doing a test run. I was riding and my nephew was behind me but I did not know who it was. Hit the turn before the bridge running 58.3 mph GPS (caution 45 mph turn) and the death wobble started lol I know better than that. Maybe getting ready to change gears again and do a variator weight/roller (not sliders) change. She rides good and adjusting to her real good. Trying to set my torque up in the right spot.

Heedehcheenuh Chuck D Ride on..... The GY loves to breath easy, the stock airbox is Not restrictive as it Far Outflows what the engine can use, its just a velocity killer,. So for what it seems Your looking for pull the Pollution crap and block it off, throw the Stock Airbox away along with the Vacuum operated Fuel Pump and Capp off all the Vacum ports you won't be using now. Then install a UniFilter and Re-Jet for nice results. Polishing on the intake side does the same in any engine, Nothing but look perty. You Scoot sounds quite I dunno if you have a stock fart can or aftermarket? Also right now check your Belt Climb, If your Not getting proper Belt Climb you loosing top end mph, just draw a line with a Black Sharpie and the belt will wear off were it rides and leave you something to measure. ok my pictures aren't loading. What do you mean by "Cam Ratios"? I'm a sbc type of guy and have only referred to Rocker Arm Ratio's or Rod to Stroke Ratio's. Maybe just some different verbiage, I've never heard of a cam ratio. I haven't seen any alternative Rocker Arm's with different ratios on the market, would be cool to get another 10% Cam from just a Rocker Arm Change

I haven't seen any alternative Rocker Arm's with different ratios on the market, would be cool to get another 10% Cam from just a Rocker Arm Change You know how the cams can come in 3 levels (I call ratios) Low rpm torque/low lift - mid range torque/little higher lift- then the good old muther thumpers (as they call them now) Saturday Night Specials Very top end torque/very high lift. Yes I know about setting the right cam up with the degree wheel etc etc. But I have always asked people what they wanted. Low- mid or top end. Then work around the weight and gear ration to get what they needed. Shoot the Pontiac Sunbird and Chevrolet Monza (Wagon) both weighed in under 2900 lbs so the power to weight ratio was fun to play with. I ran a 2.53 rear gear and would drag race out of the hole in second gear (Saginaw 4 spd). I would pull the Mustangs out of the hole while they changed gears 2 times (1st-2nd into 3rd) I was still in second walking away lol. Just old fashion fun. "You check your hawg head lately?" lol I would get people with that one. Heedehcheenuh Chuck D Ride on.....

Ok test are in. Wish I had videoed the runs. 1st change on rollers- 3x6g + 3x8g rollers total gave me 7g set...10,000 rpm max and saw 60 mph GPS. 2nd change on rollers- 3x9g + 3x11g rollers total gave me 10g set...8,000 rpm max and saw 58-59 mph GPS. 3rd change on rollers- 3x8g + 3x10g rollers total gave me 9g set.....9,000 rpm max and saw 58-59 mph GPS. Very windy day here so speeds are off a lot. Gust upwards of 10-15 mph I think. No gear change yet just trying the roller weight tune kit to figure what rollers to order. Hoca variator came with 12g set x6 but did not try them yet. I need a gram scale lol The Hoca gears are setting in the bottom of the tool box and have not been looked at yet. Did SSP-G buy Hoca out or the other way around? SSP-G is a German based company so quality should be good...I hope. The stock variator rollers had some bad ..and I mean bad flat spots all around them.

First good day to ride for me. She purrs like a kitten. Running 55-60 mph (GPS) with little wind it holds 8,000-8,500 rpm steady. Hoca variator and 9g Hoca rollers 18x14. I noticed when I run down the speed and throttle back up .. sometimes it crackles and takes off. Is the rollers to light or is the exhaust to open? All I know is she is smooth fun right now. Monday I may go get a 2006 Honda Reflex with 4,000 miles on her for $1,250-1,500 it depends if they get it running. Car lot has it and forgot about it. Kelly Bluebook says trade in is still $2,200 in good shape. Now that my friends is a sweet deal if I can fix the carb/clean the fuel tank/get a battery.

You have it tuned pretty well, you will notice a big improvement with the new exhaust, removing the emissions crap and rejeting.

If I run a cone I would be stuck with this weather here. Most of the vacuum stuff is unplugged just need to do new fuel line and manual petcock valve. After I put the new belt on I may have to readjust my roller weights..not sure yet. Also going with synthetic oil now she is over 1,000k on the Chino. Right now even with the tight belt she is running 8,000-8,200rpm range like I wanted. Thinking of getting the Hornet next but not sure yet lol Heedehcheenuh Chuck D Ride on.....

Parts came in and every thing is on. I replaced the 9g rollers with 12g rollers. The engine dropped down to 7,000-7,200 rpm range but only reached 58 mph GPS. I may put the 10g set in it (Took out the 9g set) and see how she runs from there. With the 12g set she felt like she was lugging along want to cut loose and breath. Belt made a world of a difference and was easier to get on. Clutch pulley had the belt more towards the outer edge like it should have been. Muffler sounds like a frippen glasspack lol. The old muffler showed traces of soot even thought it was light so she is not running lean. First back fire from the new muffler scared the mess out of me lol so the baffle may go in .. but I like the loudness. "Loud pipes saves lives!" I enjoy slowing down blipping the throttle to make it cackle and people turn to look like what is that. I just wonder if she prefers the 8,000-8,500 rpm range. Every time I go heavier weights and taller gear she just lugs around. I want to think she is solid enough to ride those rpms seeing as I did see 10,000 rpm on her on one run with 6g rollers. I did not hold it there but hit it and she became buzzy. (Down a short hill with a head of steam and only hit 55 mph) In the last 2 videos she was holding 8,000-8,200 rpm range and was smooth as silk. I wonder if this engine prefers the higher rpm range like that. When I ran the 8g test she ran smooth and perfect at 8,700-9,000 rpm range and was not buzzy. I was just a little to loud exhaust wise for me. Over the winter I may get setup with the BBK from the jug up. I am trying not to go to far yet. I want to get the most out of the 150cc engine first.
