[replyingto=ckizer]ckizer[/replyingto]Just watch the pilot bit carefully while drilling. When steel shavings stop and aluminum appears, STOP THERE. It's very easy to see. best to use a drill press, you should be able to feel the transition. ;D

Just called, I forgot --I'm in New England, Calif is three hrs behind.Who sells a quality 20mm carb? or do you think I should use stock jonway one. Only thing about it is, there's a brass plug blocking the adjusting screw. Everything about that bike seems to be of better quality than normal chinese ones. It even came with a bando belt.

yeah thanks I did try that. I came to the conclusion that it just isn't a good combo. I'm going to try another bbk. Maybe an airsal. Do you have any suggestions? What I'm really after is 40-45 MPH without using WOT. all the time, and decent uphills and also fairly quiet. I don't want to make a loud race machine, just a little more torque and speed.

yeah everything was as it should be. the hoca piston has a dome. the regular 50mm has a dish.I think the hoca just makes way too much compression for the jug I have.Or hoca must have a different head for their kits

[replyingto=fugaziiv]fugaziiv[/replyingto]nothing on the cylinder, but the head says JINHUA. they modify it .I got the hoca,1 because i wanted to try it anyway 2 I damaged the 2nd groove on the piston by a soft seize and they dont sell single pistons,to be honest, I really didn't like the 20mm carb either.(no guide under the diaphragm spring, and needle not adjustable)

I've given up trying to make the hoca piston work in a skrappydog BBK. Their pistons have to be dished for a reason. I just couldn't make it run right. I will either get the complete hoca BBK, or another scrappydog one. I think with the a9 cam, it just made too much compression.even with 2 base gaskets. tried an 18mm cqrb, a 20mm carb.an assortment of jets. airbox-no airbox airbox with 5/4/3/2&1 holes. the only thing left would be exhaust.Revs nice on the stand, no good on the road

[replyingto=brandjur]brandjur[/replyingto]Yup, Im doing all that, good spark orange coil.iridium plug blue cdi.fuel good. no, i dont need to prime it. The exhaust I have came factory on the scooter. Maybe it's too restrictive for the BBK ???I wanted to use it but maybe I have to get a high performance. Only problem there is I like it quiet

Yeah I did this today.played with the 2 carbs, airbox jets. Has a hard time starting no matter what, you have to catch it just right, A little too much throttle, and it sucks in more air, and loads down the starer. Once it does, I'm using the tach to adjust mixture. Can get it ok, but than it dies after i snap the throttle

Tried that, wont start. I'm thinking this BBK doesn't like the exhaust. I got it running on stand ok with stock carb and 79 jet which ran so well in the 50, went for ride- bogs down
