Thanks for the help so far, guys. I appreciate it.
I took a look at the Super 8 150, I like the styling (I prefer the look of the sportier models to the traditional step through bikes), and being from a reliable brand like Kymco I'm sure it'll run forever, and the fit and finish is up to snuff. I also like the idea of buying a new bike better, simply for warranty and service reasons.
Any idea how these 150cc scoots handle multiple passengers, and how they handle longer (30 minute plus) journeys on highways? Any other bikes you can recommend? My only real requirement is that I'd like to stay away from some of the cheap Chinese unknowns.

Lots of it is taxes here in Canada as well, which is all fine and dandy but very little of that goes towards maintaining the roads. When you get winter temperatures of -40 and summer temperatures of +40 degrees celsius, roads tend to crack an awful lot and aren't usually upkept as they should be.

I'm jealous of you all, gas prices here in Winnipeg are about $1.30/litre, or around $4. /gallon. It gets worse though; in Vancouver right now gas is hovering around $5.60/gallon. Ouch!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Funny you should mention the Nitro 150, O was just browsing Kijiji (a Canadian Craigslist alternative), and stumbled on this. An '09 Nitro 150, 1600 km/1000 mi, for the same $1400 price. I'm sure I could probably haggle it down $100 or $200. How's the scoot been? Can it do 60mph without any problems, and does the under the seat storage fit a full face helmet? Also, what kind of fuel economy ratings do you get? Thanks

Hey everyone... So I'm looking into getting a scooter to use as my primary summer ride. I figured that it would be the most practical choice as they're great on gas, insurance is about half that I pay on my car, and they seem like a fun way to get around town. I've narrowed my search down to 150cc scooters as many can still do 80- mpg, but are highway capable for when needed. I live in a city without freeways (Winnipeg) where the speed limit ranges from 50- km/h throughout the city, so I shouldn't have any issue keeping up with traffic. Anyways, I'm at a loss of where to start looking. I'd preferably like to spend under $3000, but if it's necessary I'd be comfortable going up to $4000. I took a look at the PCX 150 and was impressed, but it is priced a little high for my liking. Any recommendations or cheaper models? Thanks
