Allowed me to put a moped on lay away without requiring an immediate 30% deposit because they'll have it soon and they only have four STs left. Dave was a bit flexible and allowed the lay away for 100 days instead of days. I look to have the moped delivered on May 1st or May 2nd.

Ethanol can dissolve cheap rubber fuel hoses that are not designed to use it . Get new fuel hoses by the foot from any auto part store can prevent this . Ethanol absorbs water 20x times more than gas with out it . My dealer made me sign a paper not to use E during the PDI as it is no good for a stock scoot . I have a few places without ethanol and wow it is worth the ride to get it . Here is a link that shows ethanol free gas stations by state Pure Gas Here is an old article about ethanol problems with small engines Ethanol problems Something good comes out of Kendallville.

I'd rather just buy a Zero Electric Motorcycle that's literally hand built one at a time.

Tomos has one or two electric scooters but I doubt that they'll be imported.

Just wanted to start a thread on how you ride(WOT, cruise mellow),what ya all have done to your china scoot and how many miles are on it,,I know these things get a bad rap,,but with some upgrades and good maintenance I do believe they can be pretty reliable. I just bought a tao tao atm 150 evo,,the tires are all out of round, alot of the hardware was just slammed in with an impact stripping threads, loose and missing hardware,Im gonna see how long it will last me if i take care of it,,maybe set a new mile/km record if there is one for a china gy6...lol..so far 125Km and its only getting smoother.I plan on running Rotella full synthetic after another 500 mile oil change,,then I will go 1000 miles between changes. As of now I have upgraded all my lines, removed the evap relocated tank vent, changed plug to NGK,changed oil to shell rotella 15/40,gear lube to synthetic ,and tightened everything up with upgraded hardware.Next week plan on doing the CDI and belt. Good Times.... Tom If a product needs a lot of maintenance or upgrades then it's not a good product.

92 days and counting the last time i checked this thread you were still over 300... 92 days?!?! SWEET! if all goes well for me, you will be getting your scoot right after me. i can almost count down the days with you. I was able to score a two month job and all funds are going directly to the moped.

I think the problem with ethanol based fuel comes from letting it set too long. As long as you use it quick you shouldn't encounter too many issues. It just tends to go bad fast.
