Well I'm going to say that I believe i handed it correctly, officer gave me a verbal warning... If I had handed it as in the videos, I'm sure i would have gotten a ticket...
I'm not saying the videos are wrong, I do know from personal experience the fishing police will do, and the lies they will tell to pile more on one..

Why would you abandon a faithful friend who saw you through the hard times? I don't know good question, I have had many ask if Fawkes was for sale since getting the car, but in truth i drive the car very little.. its mainly for winter and bad weather, and for long distance traveling, like to Fort Wayne to see my grand kids, or to help my mom when she need it shes 70 now.. The daily driving to the store, or work is done with Fawkes... Hard to beat 4 dollars of fuel every two weeks.. Nope ill not part with my old friend..

My impression is that Scrappy doesn't operate that way. Am I correct? No..scrappy is the real deal...brick and mortar shop with huge warehouse and great staff. Rick runs an honest business and customer service is great. Shelly..who answers the phone..will even go pull a part...weigh it..measure..describe it...anything you ask. Now THAT is customer service. Parts for scooters..same way. I always get the same with ALL the folks you see in the banners above. You want quality...a good price...and great customer service...click the banners above. Yes they are, and they will make an order right when there's a mess up.. I have no qualms doing business with scrappy or partforscooters.. Both have been good to me..

[replyingto=oldchopperguy]oldchopperguy[/replyingto]I do think Fawke's performance got his attention for sure, but Fawkes is showing his age and miles, I try to keep him up as best as I can, but have not done much in improvements to him in a while....
I came here to Delphi and this job to fix my life, as it was nearly destroyed by two years of unemployment.. Every thing was a do over, I have been working now three years, and have begun repairing many things now that in the past i have let go.. Fawkes has been a huge help in that repair. But he too is showing signs of age and wear...
But I will not part with him, (I recently got myself a car, a 2004 grand am v6 2 door, paid cash for it. And em so looking forward to not driving Fawkes in an other winter).. So after getting my car, many at work asked me if i was interested in selling Fawkes.... My answer is no way.. He and I have been thru too much together..

[replyingto=tvnacman]tvnacman[/replyingto]I agree, the place to fight a police officer is in court in front of the judge and with a lawyer at your side, not in the field... That will only get you in deeper...
There are so many laws the police officer can just pile them on knowing one of them at least will stick... Apeese his ego. and watch every thing, if your going to fight, court is the place..

I think a 150 would be nice, right now Fawkes power and gearing is more for in town driving, and hill climbing.. 50 is about his limit without grenadeing the engine.. But that's ok, and what i wanted this time..
Ill build another stroker some day, but honestly I'm waiting for the winter season to start, Motorcycle prices are at the lowest at that time.. And I'm wanting a bike i can do long long range Hwy driving.. Been saving my nickles and dimes, Literately lol, I have 4 large coffee cans and one 5 gallon water cooler container full...

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]Well the officer was wrong with the law here, it's not 25 it's 29 mph.. but I didn't even attempt to correct him.. I just let him think what he wants... I was legal and had nothing to worry about other than a speeding ticket, and i was over the posted legal limit.
Plating in Indiana can be done under "Custom", you can plate just about anything under that... Just don't tell them its a scooter, you tell them its a custom motorcycle and the cc's...

[replyingto=prodigit]prodigit[/replyingto]I don't know about his running off like a loser, he could have given me the speeding ticket, In Indiana 1 mph or 20 mph over, its 250 dollars plus court cost..
It's no longer based on how many mph over... His decision to not ticket me and let me go... saved me 300 dollars or more, so im not complaining...

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]I think so, he had never seen a 50 cc scoot that did almost 50, but once the legality's came out I had him even more curious...
When i told him i was an Industrial mechanic and had upgraded Fawkes that seemed to make more sense to him. It was the legality's really that surprised him..
And honestly I believe that's why he let me go.. Seldom I think does he see something like this completely legal..

[replyingto=tvnacman]tvnacman[/replyingto]Yea i will wave to him, best to be on good terms with the police, even if legal..
Honest i think the only reason he let me go with a verbal warning was, I was nice to him, was in no hurry, and i had put the effort to make this machine legal.. Something not seen around here, I know that surprised him when all the legality's came out..
I know i gave him something to tell his buddies about when he gets back to the station... heheheheh Love sandbagging...

[replyingto=spandi]spandi[/replyingto]LOL no not for three miles over, the cop didn't see the scooter was plated until he had me pulled over.. According to him the speed limit for a scooter was 25 and i was doing 48 when i passed him. It was not until he had me pulled over he realized, that this is a motorcycle it only looks like a scooter.. It was actually kinda funny.. I showed him the plate, registration, my license, and proof of insurance.. I think what got him was this was just not something you see most scooterist having.. The officer let me go with a verbal warning to slow down... Nice to be back guys thanks..

Well it finally happened, I got pulled over last night on my way home from work. Cop said he clocked Fawkes doing 48 mph in a 45 MPH zone... Let me go with a verbal warning.
The first thing the cop said to me besides good evening was "What you got in that thing". It was funny as Fawkes is registered as a motorcycle, he is plated and Insured, and I have my MC's now..
So other than speeding I was completely legal, he had just never seen a small scooter like Fawkes go so fast... Guess Id better slow down..

it would have to be shipped ups i would try and experiment with a stroker and a 67mm kit it would be around 232cc The closes UPS is in Kokomo, let me see what the shipping cost would be and Ill get back with you. As for cost well as i said i really have no use for it.. so im sure we can come to an agreement especially if your going to build a stroker with it

how much you want for it now i would take my dremel to it and try a taida 67mm jug on it LMAO, yea i hadn't thought of that, for the right price i guess it would make a good experimental thing to play with.. I really have no idea what to ask for it, and i have no idea what it would cost to ship it.. Not sure USPS would take it... What do you think ?

if it has an 50mm piston in it the 57mm most likely will not fit With the 57mm jug it would I think, top end wise it looks like a standard 150 design, just smaller jug, piston and head.. Its got valves so it's a 4 stroke.. I admit i didn't want to put any money in it, just wanted it out of my house... as I don't need it.. Now I understand why scrappy didn't want it back..
