Clark Gable enlisted at age 40. Surviving boot camp at age 40 es macho! Gable had great taste in cars, too. Here are some of them: "...1935 Duesenberg Model JN that played its own part in Gable’s famed relationship with Hollywood beauty Carole Lombard, as well as a 1936 Duesenberg SSJ Speedster, 1937 Ford Lincoln-Zephyr V12, 1938 Packard Eight Convertible Victoria, 1948 Jaguar 3.5-Liter Mark IV Drophead Coupe, 1955 Mercedes-Benz Gullwing, and a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc..."

I look forward to some group rides, now that the weather is a bit cooler. Difficult to wait at those traffic lights during the heat of the summer.

That's awesome, Leo. Dick Van Dyke was one of my favorite shoes as a kid. But I don't remember the episode about the 50cc HD. -Surprisingly, my kids enjoyed watching Diagnosis Murder, starring Dick Van Dyke many years later.

"Where the Action Is" was a tv show that was hosted by Paul Revere and the Raiders band. I remember very little about it. It aired after school in the sixties. I switched the channel to cartoons.

"In a technological age "machismo" is now defined by the products you own. ( just look at pickup truck commericals... or what really sells Harley's?)" I believe that's largely true in the cities and suburbs, spandi. -In "Flyover Country", where there are no freeways, malls or day spas, I think machismo is more defined by hunting, fishing, survival and handyman skills.

That gal way in the back would soon be sitting on the pavement if they were riding on our bumpy Houston roads. A candidate for mayor once described Houston roads as "Moonscape".

Louis had much better taste in furniture. That's true, but I have always been a big fan of "Tudor" styled houses. -You know we are talking about some really tough hombres when we decide their macho-ness based furniture styles and architecture.

Louis XVIth. Beheading your wife is not macho. Louis was beheaded by the National Assembly before they beheaded his wife. This is certainly a "heady" topic.

I lifted this from a Chinese scoot forum. I hope that John Kay won't haunt me for posting these lyrics;
Get your scooter runnin' stay off of the highway Lookin' for adventure And whatevers thrown our way Yeah Darlin' go make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once And explode into space I like smoke and lightning 50 cc thunder Racin' with the wind (sorta) And the feelin' that I'm under (the speed limit) Yeah Darlin' go make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once And explode into space Like a true nature's child We were born, born to be mild We can rev so high I never wanna die Born to be mild Born to be mild

I envied guys that lived on the Blackwater River. Paddling the Blackwater was very relaxing.

Yes. The price of fuel will continue to climb for a few months. -The traffic in Houston is more terrible than usual because two major highways are still flooded where they cross the Buffalo Bayou, causing gridlock on surface streets. I saw a guy riding his GSXR on the sidewalk with his chick on the back because he couldn't deal with the traffic any longer.

The Kardashians have pledged a half million dollars to Houston disaster relief, so they have bought my vote.
