Bought this off Craigslist. The PO wanted $300 and said it wouldn't go, probably needed a new transmission. Talked him down to $165. Took it home and put on a new belt. It went then! I added the trunk while I was at the ocean the day I took this picture. Attachments:

The proper adjustment of the valves is .004 intake and .005 or .006 exhaust. This is not mm it is in inches. Use a flat feeler guage to set. I have 9100 miles on mine and I have adjusted the valves just one time. The adjustment of the valves is a big deal and it makes the engine run correctly. Enjoy.... +1 Set your valve gaps to .004 INCHES on the intake and .005 INCHES on the exhaust. At .005 MM (equals about .0002 inches) yours are way too tight.

Make sure the two spade connectors on the coil are clean and tight. Could be the CDI. I would also check the valve clearance. .004 inches on both the intake and exhaust.

First things first. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Let it sit for an hour after charging then check it with a multi meter. If it reads 12.5 volts, then it is a good battery and we can go from there.

As long as the motor is already broken in it is fine. If it gets extremely hot where you ride I would use 10W40.
