... too happy about the standard response of the single cylinder 250cc thumper engine.... more fuel efficient... S40 thumper, which many people say rattles at high speeds ... I know the S40, rode my Savage from 2004 to 2011, you can search on my blog for "savage" www.dslretorts.com/Paladin/ Regarding: Acceleration -- very bikes are touch it when the traffic signal goes green. Fuel efficiency -- I got a little under 50 mpg in the city. But that is riding 50% moving / 50% sitting at red lights, WOT to the speed limit (which was generally when I cleared the intersection.) But I had fun. In the Interstate, touring, I got 60-65 mpg doing 70-65 mph. From Parker AZ to Palm Springs CA I got 70 mpg doing 55 mph across the Mojave. Savage vs. Vespa got/get 50 mpg vs. 70 mpg in the city -- but 65 mpg vs. 60 mpg on the Interstate. The 652cc motorcycle had higher mpg than the 151cc scooter. Vibration -- Suzuki did *too* good of a job with the balancer, the thumper had far less vibration I expected or even wanted, Thumpers are suppose to vibrate. 75 mph on the Interstate is very comfortable. On the Harbor Freeway in L.A. the vibration was not bad until + mph, but that may have been the pavement. If you want to cruise at 80+ mph you do not want the S40. When I killed my Savage (note: letting oil too low is not smart) I considered a new S40 -- but I will not be doing high speed touring and my knees and hips don't like swinging over the saddle, hence the Vespa.

... I could make something, but I wanna get the right parts. Thats what i'm looking for by the way. If it's cheaper to get a new trunk, I might do that. Did I say "Cheap?" I am in La La Land, I need a lockable box. Bought a Rubbermaid Action Packer 8 gallon www.lowes.com/pd_218135-1217-FG11700438_0__?productId=3279586 plus a small piece of steel to glue on the bottom and a pair of u-bolts: It only takes a minute or to mount/dismount. The box is not quite big enough for a case of bottles of beer.

It is keltex78's turn. I was just suggesting something he could post "something suitably unique but achieveable." Not that it matters, people are rather capable when it comes tagging whatever you find. I will wait for week -- life happens, sometimes you get distracted, especially if you are married with children.

Zzzzzzzzz..... How about Piggies? Really, what you want to do is try to find something that is not available in Greater Los Angeles.

I have been riding with just regular cloths and shoes nothing else when I get to around 45 the blacktop starts to look awful hard.... As far as I know, "protection" basically reduces the speed of injuries by about 20 mph. Meaning that your risk of injuries at 45 mph wearing gear is the same as the risk of injuries at 25 mph without gear. Which is why 65 mph on the highway starts looking awful hard even with the gear.

Ah.... Hey!! Moderator Man? Am I allow to post the word you know it should be next?
Reality sucks. (Trust me, after two heart attacks and a stroke, some of the time, reality is not fun.)
