Hello, Im new to the forums and new to mopeds as well. Iv been having some problems with my new ped and was hoping someone could help. I recently purchased a used Geely jl50qt-16 hoping to get it running and ride around for bit, before selling to fund a bigger project of mine. The previous owner said it had just been sitting for a while and was in working cond. when parked. First thing I did was drain the fluids, and clean the carb. Then inspected the reed valves(reeds were spotless) and changed the plug(also checked for spark). There seems to be a hole where the kick start use to be so I hooked up a battery and cranked it over(using a little starting fluid). It spins very very slow, iv cleaned the starter and looked for any potential signs of binding in the starter mech., but nothing. Every once in a while it will cough as if it wants to start, but i believe it wont start because its not being spun fast enough. Any ideas?
Also the piston and sleeve look brand new aside from a little carbon build up on the head of piston and has great compression(will be able to get comp #s tomm). The cooling head has 86cm3 and the word "niole" on it, strange for a 50cc.......
One last thing, some parts from the oil injection system were in pretty rough shape and could not be saved, I would like to run mix so this is not a huge problem to me but now I am confused where to put my gas line in the carb seeing that there are three inputs....
Thanks for reading, help would be greatly appreciated. -Chris
