Ok. I put on the original cdi and coil tonight. I left the new carb and air filter on. The bike did the same routine. Started well. Had a little trouble keeping the idol going after releasing the throttle. And about 10-15 minutes into some steady riding, complete deadness. Shuts right down. Wait 10-15 minutes and sluggishly starts back up and will run for 10-15 minutes and so on. I think it's overheating and cooling and heating again. Could just a new carb and filter cause this?

I suspected that was going to be one of the prescriptions. I will post back with results. Thanks for the reply!

Hello! I am haveing some issues with my new scooter. I have read a lot of posts with issues similar to mine, but my circumstances are slightly different. Perhaps my fix is different too. From what I've read, there are some real experts around, any info would be greatly appreciated. So, I basically took a perfectly good scooter and made it much worse. It's got about 50 miles on it. The oil and gear oil has been changed. It ran great until......I watched a video about how cheap the components were on Chinese scooters, so I ordered a performance pack from some company. It included a high(er) performance carburetor, new smaller air filter, new orange coil wire and racing cdi. I decided to change these parts. I'm pretty handy with vehicles and thought to myself, it's a simple little engine, what can go wrong?? Dumb. All parts went on easily and after some starting fluid it started up and ran. Ever since then, the throttle is very finicky. If I rev the mother and let off the gas too fast, it stalls. Any time the throttle is backed off quickly, it stalls. Also, when it warms up fully, approx 2-3 miles, it dies completely. And will not start until sufficient time has passed and with WOT totally pegged open. The engin will start very slowly and the rpms will eventually catch up to the WOT. Couple more miles, same thing. I have adjusted the carb ad nauseum. Looked for leaks in manifold or vacuum lines. I'm going to clean the carburetor, even though it is brand new and check the valves, which are again brand new. If that fails, I'm going to put the original parts back on and be happy with its performance. Any thoughts?
