I bet that engine got burned out within 300 miles if it lasted that long . he didn't hone the cylinder lube the cylinder rings , gap the rings . He never put the cooling shroud back on either . Guys buy a torq wrench . Turn the engine over by hand and make sure it does not bind up . Guys pulling the engine out is the way to go sit down in a chair and work on a bench . John agreed it is much easier with the engine out i've working on mine in my basement where its warm

I've done this many times if you bang on the dowel where the hole is the other side will pop up then you can remove it with pliers.

Bang it out or bang it on something with it facing sideways

The spacer was supposed to be 1.60mm but its 1.65 I measured there's .3mm from the top of the jug with the spacer no gaskets. Will give me a comfortable clearance and chain isn't too tight. I've ran the rtv without gaskets before and no leaks so I'm confident it will be alright. Mbe motorsports sells a 1.57mm spacer I believe would be perfect with no gasket and a cam without high lift. I'm going to run a high lift cam so the .3mm is fine for me.

I scraped all the rtv out of the passage with a small screw driver

Its very near the top with the spacer maybe .4 I'm good with the clearance and the chain goes on the cam, can push the rocker assembly flush by hand. With any gasket even the .2mm gasket had to force it down with the rocker nuts.

Update took off both gaskets covered the spacer in rtv high temp gasket sealer sprayed it with the copper spray will work perfectly. Good clearance the chain isn't overly tight all is a go.
