No real way to tell for about 10 Years or so Leo ,,,if you took all the Japanese and Chinese parts out of any car or bike manufactured in the world it wouldn't run let alone start,,,so much for made in the USA or any country for that matter

Rain... I don't much care to ride at night because of critters (but still do sometimes... warm nights; it's like riding through silk) But rain makes it even more perilous. Coming back home from camping in NY and the rain came fast, hard and heavy... Nearly blinding and I got soaked cold to the bones. Like I had said once before... I might have stayed drier by jumping into the lake just to get out of the rain. It was that bad.. Made me nervous because I could only see tail lights ahead of me twinkling through the downpour. Even worse, I was on the expressway at the time; which can make matters even more dangerous. I got off at the first opportunity and spent the night trying to dry out in a too expensive hotel room. (but it would have been nice if I planned on staying more than just that night) Heavy rain while riding at night... I hate it when that happens. Sounds like a southern teir problem to me,, I’m from Hamburg man it sure can rain there ,,pistondude is from Ohio he’s seen his share as well |

Just to play devil's advocate and I haven't clicked on the links, but IS Harley going to India or China? Or could they really be going to the EU? >'Kat I would say no to that kat,, manufacturing regulations taxes and every other thing you can think of would put a major Obstacle in the way,, even bmw car engines are made in asia now as are piaggio/ vespas bmw bikes,,even the engine in peeg is made in Taiwan,,, just too restrictive and costly to do it here or in the eu in most cases,, |

Let them go,, Indian will fill the slot nicely,, when I rode hd briefly I was not impressed with either the metals or the fit,, nice paint but that was just about that,, threw away almost half the engine,, all of the suspension,, brakes,, easy 25% of the machine is still in boxes out in a shed,,,, I’ll take me a Scout any day over any Harley altho I wouldn’t mind a Vrod mill I could shoehorn into something,, but with ducatis scrambler800,, yamahas bolt street tracker style bike,,, and aprilias dorsoduro why would I bother, any of these would trounce a hog any day of the week unless the hd was so heavily breathed on then it’d “win”,,, if you did the same mods apples to apples the hd would again be buried,,, too archaic of the root design,, don’t get me wrong if I find an old hd flathead in a barn or shed I’m grabbin it,, be kind of fun to blast an old relic around but nothing for any kind of serious riding,,, I don’t think this decision will kill Harley but it’s going to give an edge to Indian that hd will never come back from,, I don’t consider the Indian to be anything more than the name,, it’s a modern bike made by a different company,,, same as triumph,, no relation to the original bikes in any way,,, that’s one thing you can say about Harley,, they’ve had their ups and downs just like everyone else but they hung in there

I thought the Genuine Stellas were made in India? They are ,,,my 2013 I bought as a leftover was a steal just a tick over msrp,,,and other than a wonky glass tube fuse holder that was changed in favor of the blade style (purchased at oreilly )and a clutch cable that went out at 1500 miles or so and replaced and battery went out last fall and wouldn't hold charge it's been very reliable,,thank goodness the scoot has a real live kicker on it,,,even with the dead battery it still was a one or two kick bike cold,,, |
