Yes it is a 49cc.
Thanks millsc that is a good savings.
That stage lll looks like a pretty good deal too though. I know it all depends on rider weight and area and all but is 7g rollers a good starting point? My current ones are getting worn I think. I took them out and weighed them and they came out to be 5.6g so they must be 6g. Does that air filter work with a stock carb or would I need to get a bigger carb for that? My carb now I believe is the stock 18mm, its a stock replacement from my local shop.
Anyone know if the stage lll is cheaper on scrappys ebay store?

Yes thats what Ive heard teddy554 on the ebay kits. Luckily I have a scooter shop about .5 a mile from my place for jets and odds and ends.
I know it varies from location and engine and all but what would be a good jet to start with?

The problem I have noticed when "off roading"(trail to get to barn where I store it) is that the engine on these scooters is the swingarm, and since the carb is mounted on the engine then the carb is with the engine in somewhat unsprung weight, meaning it doesnt benifit from the suspension, so what Ive noticed is that when you hit the big bumps the float likes to stick, this wouldnt be as much of a problem is the carb was "sprung weight." Some sea foam in the tank does help the sticking float a bit.

So is it recommended to upgrade to a higher volume oil pump when installing bbks?

Hello all, So I am about to start ordering parts for my bbk. I have been very tempted to try the cheaper ebay kits but I dont wanna have a ton of problems or worries. So I think Im gonna order my stuff from scrappydog.com, Im looking at ordering:
100cc Big Bore kit- 50mm, $89 Performance Big Valve cylinder head assembly - $124 Performance A9 Camshaft - $39 Total $- $255
Being a college student $255 is a lot to spend but Im thinking these would be quality parts that wont fail. Would that thinking be right? The perfromance big valve head is very expensive but from what Ive learned on here it sounds worth it. Are these good prices for these parts and is the quality good? I know to get any more speed I would really have to do gears to but Ill need to save up some more for that, but figured while Im in there I might as well do the a9 and head.
Thoughts and opinions welcomed! Thanks guys

Hello all, I went to check my spark plug for the begining of this season, Im from mid Michigan, and I ended up stripping the socket for the plug in the head. My fuel pump also stopped working becasue of not enough compression thus no vaccum. But I tried some teflon tape and it helped by showing the fuel pump was good but still couldnt start. I will have to try a helicoil next. Maybe this is the time to do the bbk Ive been wanting to do.
So Ive looked on scrappydog for parts, I want to do a bbk, with larger head and larger valves and the a9 cam.
Is the a9 cam worth it? And does it hurt low end alot? I dont wanna have it be a slug until it gets to higher speed.
From the looks of it, it will be about $255 dollars for those three items from scrappydog, is there a better price I can get on parts anywhere? Just seems like a lot when a new engine is about $390 online. -Thanks

Is upgrading to that kit a worthy upgrade without the bigger valve head and bigger valves?

Did you find your plate on a website? If so can you post the link to it? It would be cool to find a cool one!

In the ebay link that millsc posted those are stock sized valves on that kit aren't they? So why does it come with?

Next couple weeks are busy but after that we will have to set up a meetup. We should see if we can get a few more people involved.
