Hi all,
I currently have a Adonis 300T made by Riya in China. It's deign engine is that of the YP250 and Linhai 275. I've owned for approx 3 yrs and only done 9K. I have fitted a Racing CDI ( DC ) 8Pin ( 4 above 4 ) and is so much better then stock version. I've wanted to fit a racing Ignition coil ever since, so I purchased a Faito7500. When I installed and ran scoot for around 5 min, the CDI got very hot, almost to stage to cook eggs. I know CDI can get a little warm at most but HOT!!?? Anyone would think the coil pack would get hot.....
I'm asking if anyone may have any idea as to what maybe causing this? I have checked stator wires and reg/rectifier is a sweet 14v running.. CDI does not get hot with original Ignition coil. Everything runs as it should only better response time on accelerator, but the CDI is bloody hot, maybe around 45-55 DEG Celsius.

Hi, I have had the same problem since new on my Chinese build Riya Adonis 300T scooter. RPM needle bouncing at idle and needle struggling at high revs. My solution was, I installed a 6A10 6A 1000V Diode on the trigger wire direct from ignition coil ( yellow / black wire ) and another under dash going to tachometer ( white/red wire ). This leveled out the signaling instability issue I was having. Was wondering if anyone else had tried this method or another better solution, would love to hear from you!!!!
