reusing triangles in scooter? assesing variator drive belt

ive reused my triangles (the part that sits in the cover which covers the rollers over the housing)
I didnt see any wear on them except some black dust on the inside.
I live intl and they sell for the same as the rollers so I thought not to replace them. just wipe them down and reuse.
my other question is wear on the belt.
just wondering how to assess a good or worn out variator belt. besides being dirty it looks as good as a new one.
rollers always have flat sides which I replace. just wondering how you can tell the condition of a good or bad belt.
