I know I should have included this to begin with, but I am not looking at kph. I am looking at the smaller numbers, on the inside arc. When I hit 45mph actual, the needle pegs out, and there's no way I'm able to hit 120kph on a 150, unless I went off a tall cliff.
The numbers, as well as I can approximate, are, in mph
Actual:Reading 25:40 35:60-65 45:80
I will look into a bike speedo.
And yes, for a minute, I did seriously consider xylon's solution.

Got my scoot all set up, did my PDI, got out on the road, and was fairly certain that I wasn't going 50 in a 25. The speedometer seems to be going almost twice as fast as it should. I'm having trouble figuring out if perhaps I attached it wrong. It feels like it is attached properly, but it must not be. Also, is the part that attaches to the wheel supposed to come apart so easily? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Suppose I should mention it is a Powermax 150. If it's attached properly, is there a way to calibrate it? Attachments:

Hi, I'm from Albany, OR, and just finished the Team Oregon class, which I would highly recommend. The instructors are great, and it's very informative. After only 10 hours on the scoot, they had me wanting to take it on the 34 to Waldport. (Which is a scary drive in a car, in my opinion) The cost is $179, btw, and they provide bikes and prefer you don't use your own. You would have to request a scooter when you register for the class. team-oregon.org/I just wanted to clarify, that to ride unendorsed, the scoot "cannot be capable of speeds of more than 30 mph on level ground AND, if the moped’s power source is a combustion engine, it cannot be larger than 50 cc." (direct from page 1 of the DMV Motorcycle manual) If you have any questions about the Team Oregon class, just ask.

Called again, talked to a different person, and got it sorted out. Scooter was ready a while ago, but there was a communication hiccup. The guy I talked to said "They(meaning another shop, maybe?) aren't used to dealing with ODLF, so I got it straightened out, and the number should work this evening."
That was Wednesday evening, and I got my scooter Friday morning.
Scooter was in good condition, all parts included, nothing broken yet. Haven't started it or checked electronics, but that will have to wait 'til a day off.
Thank you all for your quick responses. This hasn't ruined GS Motorworks for me. Once they caught their mistake, they fixed it immediately.

On the ScootDawg forum, GS Motorworks was highly recommended by several people, usually noting their service, responsiveness to warranty, and delivery swiftness.
I ordered a TaoTao Powermax 150 from them on February 27, it is now March 13th. The only e-mail I have received from them was the confirmation of sale. I have not received a shipping notice, tracking number, or anything else.
I called Monday the 11th and talked to Alfredo, who sounded very busy, and he got me a tracking number for ODFL, and he checked it while on the phone with me. He said it was showing up as an invalid number, but would probably work by that evening.
I am still trying the number, and I'm still getting "Invalid Pro Number. Please check and try again."
Basically, I'm asking for reassurance that this is still within a reasonable amount of time for my scooter to be shipped. I'm not sure if calling again and hounding them for it will get it any sooner.
