The title is in the seat trunk of the scooter, but it is not stolen by me or my friend. He won it in a contest with a Textbook Store giveaway and has had it since. He gave it to me because he doesn't want to deal with bringing it with him to his new home a couple hours drive away and because he doesn't have any way of getting it to turn on and operate after losing his keys.

Hi there, So I was recently given an old scooter by a friend. I'm pretty sure it is a Taotao ATM50A1 based on images I've compared it to online. Anyways my friend lost his keys to it so I need fix that issue before I can even begin to ride it. On top of that his seat is locked and I don't know how I'm gonna be able to get into the seat trunk without breaking something I might want to use in the future. Also the speedometer and odometer don't work either. I'm a complete novice when it comes to scooters and looking to get this thing into decent running shape so I can use to get to class and other places without having to ride my bike up and down hills at a snails pace all day. I figured this forum was a good starting location to learn about scooters so I can learn to repair them. I'm not unfairly with mechanics, I've done quite a bit of work on my car on my own and I'm hoping that carries over here for the most part. Anyways, nice to meet you all, hopefully you can give me some advice on the things that I've mentioned.
Thanks, Astray
