Ok so the cdi no longer fries, and it runs with pin 5 after rewiring ignition switch and the kill, but... I still have no headlights or dtr lights. Turn signals, dash lights, and brake light all work. The systems that work are all dc correct?

I had an alarm in here from po but I removed it and connected two pins like in a picture of the connector that would be there if an alarm had never been installed. Any on have a pucture of that or tell me what pins should be connected there?

I changed the regulator and I am no longer popping cdis. It now wil not turn off with kill key and will not start with pin 5 connected. Blows fuses if you hit the kill with it unhooked from pin 5.

Could the coil do this to the cdi?

I also had two fuses in my battery box go out this week. It had a 15a fuse but I got 20a thinking its from increased draw, like maybe my headlights being halogens or something.

Im NOT sure if the stock one is dead for certain. The others were visibly done. I just know it started and ran, but once shut off it had no spark again.

Scooter just got more naked than ever before. I see no shorts in wiring harness. Yes, I unwrapped and inspected the entire thing from stator to regulator. Im at a loss. I was expecting to find pinched wire, cause it died on me after a strange noise like something tapping plastics so I bounced up and down then immediately lost spark. I swapped cdi out and it started right up. Turned off to unlock seat and it wouldnt start again.

so I have not seen this with anyone else. My cdi's are not just ceasing to function, they are getting a buldge in the casing. What could be causing this? Is my stator over charging my cdi? I have burned two ebay orange, and one stock unit. I have 72cc, 19mm carb, 88jet, cone filter, orange ignition coil, ngk plug, modded exhaust. I have redone the bat gound, and ground from starter to frame.

And yeah no pic of the actual muffler opening has me weary. But if I had to open up that one versus my stock one with a higher flow header, I would rather do that one.

Scooter is running fantastic aside from the belt I just shredded... damn it! bbk will be here this week but I may wait to instal it until I have this belt crap figured out. It doesnt seem to have been able to rub on anything and I am lost as to why it died the way it did.

So I just need to figure out the carb jetting with exhaust and bbk from here. my bike has tall gears already as it is a long case with a 744 belt and 13inch rear. Not gps confirmed but.... chinameter was way past 50. Im going to take a ride with gps right now.

I ordered my bbk tonight and I am trying to find a free flowing exhaust. What do you think of a 54 dollar multi color from ebay and what would be a range of jets likely to suit me with uni, cdi, coil, bbk 72cc, and free flowing exhaust?
