thanks for the info! I really want to get an accurate speedo in so I have an idea what future mods gains are, of course I'll end up increasing its bore later anyhow.

yes, but no tach. speedo is metric too, not very useful in the US of A. And this is my play toy, can't stop improving it!

definitely looking for something for interstate speeds (75+ mph). From the sticker prices, the Yamaha TMax is about max that I want to spend. I'm not in a rush, but all the input gives me good ideas of what to look for, thanks! Oh, I had dirt bikes as a kid, so clutches don't bother me any, but the bigger scoots have places to put stuff while motorcycles still don't. I'll figure it out I guess. lol

well, I just got off the phone with scrappydogscooter.com, in most cases, the 2k springs normally come in the clutch. I guess I'll have to see what happens. I have time to figure it out, I have a week until I have surgery on my elbow, so I won't get to ride for a while.

I'm running 4 gram sliders right now and pretty happy with it acceleration right now. Top end is about 40-45 I think, still need to have the speedo verified. I'm really searching for a better idea of what springs to order instead of trial and error. I'm not climbing hills. if I can get 45-55 out of the scoot, I'll be very pleased. I guess my real question is, what size of springs normally come in the clutch?

I'm looking for a little insight on upgrades to the drive train on my scoot. For starters, it is a 139QMB GY6-50cc. I'm looking to upgrade the clutch, belt,, clutch bell, and sheave, but I'm not sure what springs I should get for the torque springs and clutch springs. I weigh about 195 lbs. and the terrain is generally flat. I was also wondering if upgrading the transmission gears is worth the effort. What advise do you have?

So, I've been toying with the idea of adding to my two wheel transportation line, but still haven't decided whether to get a motorcycle( cruiser) or a large scooter. Either way I go requires a motorcycle endorsement, registration, property taxes, and insurance. What are y'alls thoughts?

A little upset with me at the present. I've been trying to tune the carburetor, but weather conditions have been erratic and experimenting with variator weighting. Otherwise, runs great, still out running other 50cc scoots in the area!lol

I'll ride if it isn't too cold (ice)or windy. Heavy rain just plain sucks with drivers that barely know how to drive on dry pavement, so I avoid the heavy rain with low visibility conditions.

I would recommend staying with the 10w40 and go with the full synthetic. I am partial to Amsoil or Royal Purple, but that is my preference from the high performance and diesel arenas. Your engine will run cooler and cleaner and you won't have to worry about the oil thickening with the short oil change intervals. As imnts2 stated DX, richening yor a/f mix a little will help with cooling. Safe riding!

When I swapped my scoot's CDI with the orange performance unit, I noticed that the CDI hung on its mount so the connectors face to the rear of the bike. I have not had any issues with electrical...yet( knock on wood). Regardless, I am very careful with water pressure around the bike. I pre and final rinse the bike with the hose and without any amplified pressure, such as no nozzle, or the shower setting on a garden nozzle. My only thought about those frying CDIs is to check all the wiring to and from the CDI( power, ground, spark) for corrosion, wire insulation deterioration, or possible shorting. Salt has a nasty affect on electrical, not that the inferior Chinese quality of materials helps any. I hope you have better luck with your rides!
