Thank you for the warm welcome Leo! I went back and looked the variator and belt over with a fine tooth comb and found that it was a good 1/2 inch up the variator when idle. I took off the new variator I got from Ebay and put on the stock one that was almost seized from lack of oil/lube inside. Started it up and bam, right at the bottom of the variator! I was using the stock fan on the ebay variator base, because they forgot to send it. It is on it's way. So it turns out there are little differences between the stock and Ebay variators. I will post some pictures tonight! Thank you Leo! I am excited to feel the 250's full oomf tonight!

Hello all again.
Just went out for the test drive. BUT before hand, I adjusted the valves (they were pretty loose) and cleaned out the carb with carb cleaner. The jet was a 115. Took it out for a test drive, and it was much better. The lower throttle response and power was a big part of the issue it seemed. It still weirdly (or maybe not weirdly) doesn't go up past 3,000 rpm when accelerating, until it get past about 25 mph, but it is able to at least be usable now.
I put the 2nd set of 14 gram rollers back in just to see, and it did accelerate slower, but it was definitely smoother and calmer. I also later raised the idle RPM from about 900 to 1,500 as I saw on a metal sticker was supposed to be set to. I got an intake and exhaust on the way, so I will need to change that jet soon anyways.
I guess, is it normal to be seeing what I am seeing, very low RPM while accelerating from a stop on a Roketa 250B?
Thanks.

Hello all,
I just picked up a decent 08 MC-54-250B with a Linhai motor in it. It is an "upgrade" from my 150 GY6 Roketa. I am in the process of fixing it all back up to normal person standards, but I seem to have an issue right now that is confusing me.
From a stop, this thing is extremely slow off the line. When I hit the gas, it revs up only a small bit, to about 2.5kish RPMs, and slowly, I mean slowly, accelerates up from there. That is the complete opposite as my Gy6, that wrapped up to 5-6k rpm, and shot me forward. Once it gets to about 20 or 30 mph, it starts to accelerate much better. I have swapped out the variator with a new one, with the same 8 14 gram weights, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference. I have confirmed reving on the stand that the variator and clutch are changing. I am about to go for a test drive later this after evening with only half the weights in the variator just to see if that makes a difference.
I also put on a new GATES POWERLINK 856 23 30 DRIVE BELT, just in case it was slipping or something. I noticed on the variator, that the belt doesn't sit all the way down onto the inside of the variator, I can slip my finger between the belt and the bottom, is that normal?
Anything else I should look at, or into? Maybe the rear clutch springs are too weak?
Thank you for your time.

Great, thank you. Do you still recommend I keep the same main jet size?

I will look into how to adjust the needle.
Alright, burping and popping through the intake means too rich?

Hello all,
I am working on a 2006 150cc GY6, been fixing it up after it was abandoned. Have been riding it for a couple months now, and decided to upgrade the air filter to a uni type thing. I ordered a 125 main jet with it and swapped it out the stock one when I changed the filter. Noticed a power increase right away, but I have a burping, or popping or something happening. When it happens I feel a very very slight loss of power for a split second. I then ordered a 10 pack of main jets and tried others. I went from 115 to 130 and they were all the same, except 115 made the spark plug have white ash, and the 130 made the spark plugs black. I settled on 120, but I still have the burping. It seems to come and go, and isn't steady. It also seems to happen more part throttle, and only happens when accelerating or wot. Not while idling. Exhaust is stock. It runs relativity well, just the burping.
Any ideas on things I should try?
Thank you guys.
