It runs! I rode it to town and back yesterday. I had to adjust the air/fuel screw a bit more to get it to run with a load (read: my fat a... er, rear), but it is indeed running. Now I can move on to the improvements. Are de-restriction of the CVT/exhaust (I checked the carb already) and removal of the EGR/PAIR (I think I have both...) be advised?

I got it running! I had an air leak where the intake meets the cylinder(?) but some gasket maker took care of that. Now I just need to take it for a ride. Next step is to fix the fuel gauge (ethanol ate the float) and to address the little bit of rust in the tank. (I initially said there wasn't any, but after digging out the remnants of the float, I stand corrected.)
Thanks, everyone!

I got the jet unclogged! I found a $1 wire brush at the Dollar Tree and that did the trick! I'll put it all back together after I get off of work (2200 Mountain Time) and see what happens. Also, jerseyboy, I posted a picture of the butterfly a few posts back. If that's not a good enough shot, let me know before I put it all back together and I'll put up a better one.

If I can find a cheap wire brush, I'll go that route considering that the closest music store is an hour and a half away (~80 miles). Maybe our new Dollar Tree will have something thin enough. If not, I'll take you up on that offer. Thanks!

Don't order that one, unless the seller can verify it's size. Go to one of the sites in our banner ads at the top of the page. They are trusted sellers, and will list their jets by sizes. Is your scooter a 50 or 150 cc? We can tell you the standard size pilot jet to get, and if you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, you might order one size larger for safety. It's a 50cc. I've been told it's a #28, but that doesn't mean anything to me. As long as I don't have to spend more than $20, I'll do whatever it takes to get this thing running again. Thanks again, guys.

Yep. Tried that. I'm just going to cave and order a new jet. Hopefully I get the right size. This looks right, but I'm not sure.

I have made sure that all the other ports are unclogged. Hopefully clearing that jet will do it... The 5-10 miles a day across town and back to my house are killer for my car's MPG and my wallet (although with gas prices falling, it's not as bad as it could be).

Here is the butterfly. I pulled the pilot jet and it is clogged. The spray cleaner did nothing. I couldn't find anything to clear it out like a small piece of wire, so it is soaking in cleaner. I will be swishing it around periodically.

I've done that twice over, but I'm wondering if maybe there was something in the fuel hose or something that I missed that clogged them back up. I'll pull it back apart and check when I get a chance and let you know.
Side note: thank you for being so patient with me. I really do appreciate it. I know how tempting it can be to just say, "Take it to a shop. I don't want to deal with you anymore, newbie."

It looks like #1. It does the same thing with my thumb over the hole.

It dies before I can get it started and get my hand down there. I had a roommate help and it made no difference. I can't tell if the choke is working because I don't have alligator clips to clip inside the plug to test. It's still starting, trying to idle up, then dying.

Weather has been interesting since yesterday. I will try to test the enricher later today after classes and work.

Air intake was clear. No change in trying with the cover off.

If I get it going by revving it, I can keep it at or near WOT, but as soon as I let it go below that it dies.

Bloody Tapatalk telling me "You don't have permission to post to this board"
Anyway, how long do I need to hold it for it to be considered "warmed up?" I have to rev the throttle to get it started. If I hold the throttle barely open it dies. I'll test the enricher shortly.
