Looks like an awesome find and a very fun project.
Best advice I can offer is start a notebook and make sketches and take notes. A multimeter will be your friend for a long while.

John's gold colored CDI works very well. That's what I use. It's an 'advancing' CDI, which is very different than an advanced CDI.

What do you think of this? What is the dichotomy? It's hard to tell with the focus so off. I would say it looks a little rich, but again, it's hard to tell with the picture so poor.

Nice, im really happy with it too. On my bike though I had to slightly modify the mount so it would clear the oil dipstick. Just ground a bit of metal off the triangle. Also the center stand on mine rubbed against my pipe so I had to remove it. its cool that yours fit perfectly, mine took a little finagling but overall im more than happy with it. And my scoot sure sounds mean now lol. What kind of jetting are you using? Im running a 120 main with a uni filter at sea level and it seems pretty spot on. 125 worked ok too I just felt it might be bogging a tiny bit at wot. I kept my 108 for a jet. I have a wideband O2 sensor, so I'm cheating a little with carb tuning. After installation I had to lean out the fuel mixture screw and raise the needle one notch. That dialed in my idle and up to middle range throttle. I wasn't able to test at WOT so that tuning with be done tomorrow. You can see on my before and after that before my idle was reading 13.5ish. Right after installation the reading dropped to 12.5ish.

Alright, I have finally been able to install the new exhaust. It bolted right on, and I can not be happier with the results. After installation I had to lean the carb a little to get the carb tuned perfectly. 150cc with stock exhaust. 150cc with Freeflow exhaust. NICE!!!! I still smile watching both videos and hearing the difference in sound. As for being too loud, it wasn't that bad. I took her around the block, and with the wind and other sounds the exhaust wasn't too bad.

This is a very good online store. I used them also when I did my 11pole stator upgrade. I was able to get the correct plugs and terminals for the job. They ship very quickly also. As dmartin95 said, it's better to do the job right, then have problems down the road.

With only a unifilter I would recommend trying a 108 or 115. Carb tuning is one of those things that depend on the engine and other parts. Have you pull the plug to see what it looks like?

hillbillybob ... Thanks for the advice. I'll take it into consideration. Maybe I'll switch to every 500 chinomiles. The little bit of hassle and cash is worth the insurance of a well running engine. Especially according to the article you quoted I don't ride enough to evaporate the moisture produced. What's your opinion of changing gear oil? Since the initial oil change I have also changed the gear oil with the engine oil.
