Hi guys, scratching my head on this one, and this seems to be the site to come to for help. I have a 2 stroke scooter, emblems say Hussar but I think it is a QiangJian, engine is a 1e40qmb. Anyway, it appears as though the oil pump failed and burned up the cylinder, so I rebuilt the top end and removed the oil pump so I could premix the fuel. I plugged the oil injection line on the carb. I also replace the auto choke and thoroughly cleaned the carb, and replaced the intake boot. On to the problem. The scoot will start and idle for as long as the key is on, left it at idle for about 30mins with no problem. As soon as I drive it around for a few minutes it will slowly start to die out, when it does this the engine starts to get loud, like it is growling at me, then it will die. I can then immediately, even while I am moving, start it back up and will have the same issue, gets loud and then dies, repeat over and over again. At first I thought the engine was seizing so I richened up the mixture, went from 32:1 to about 24:1. Every time it dies it will crank and has good compression. I removed the fuel tank thinking it was vapor locking, but that didnt do it. So I hooked my mighty vac up directly to the vacuum line to keep a constant pressure on the petcock, that didn't work. When it dies I can still see fuel in the fuel filter.
Summary: basically starts growling at me and slowly dies, will restart right away and do the same over and over.
