I finished installing my new parts and I'm seeing a stronger spark, but it still won't start. Here's what I've checked today: 1.) spark. Checked at valve cover- looks good and strong 2.) compression. Showed 160psi max. 3.) fuel. I've been spraying starting fluid in the carb and even removed the carb and sprayed starting fluid in the intake. 4.) after trying to start it I remove the plug and it's wet but doesn't have any carbon on it. I'm ready to haul this thing to the shed and be done with it. Any advice? Ideas?

I have tried switching the wiring at the coil, but it had no effect.
It appears I have a package waiting for when I get home from you, John. Hopefully I can get everything put on this weekend and see what happens.

I understand your concern and appreciate it, however riding season is almost up and I don't ant to wait on parts . I can always keep them as spare parts if their not needed

I think I'll take the flywheel/rotor off tomorrow and see what stator to buy and just replace everything at once, so it may not be until Tuesday until ordering parts

Yes I do. I checked it according to the video and it showed ok, but I'll probably double check here in a little bit. Can a bad stator ruin these ignitions?

Sweet! I'm going to be buying a coil and Cdi from you probably on Monday. My name's Doug and I live in indiana. I just want to make sure that they're good before I put them on, and if they go bad after install I'll know I have some other problem. Thanks!

I was looking at NYC scooter parts, I read that they test their parts to make sure they work. Is there a better place?

Looks like both my coils I have are bad with a reading of 0.3 ohms on the primary side. So I'll order a new one. I think it's strange that both coils are bad after I installed the bbk, but that's what it's showing. Again thanks for the link to the video

So my spark is weak like you say alley oop. Any ideas how to fix it. It is weak whether I check it on the motor or the frame

Lol, yes, yes I do. I have done this with fuel and starting fluid. It will fire on a few strokes every now and then. I've hooked up my timing light and it only fires when the timing light flickers which is only a few times during a cranking session of about 10 seconds.

Ok, I drained the excess oil, but of course it still won't start. I have the stock pilot jet, 75 main jet, and the air/fuel mixture screw all the way clockwise until it stops, with the throttle plate closed my spark plug is wet after a few seconds of cranking... Any thoughts on why?

It sounds to me like it fires on each compression stroke, but it doesn't have enough power or something is holding the piston back cause it won't stay firing without the starter turning it over...not sure if that makes sense to you guys but that's what it seems to be doing no matter what I do to the carb. Today I put in the original 75 main jet and and cranked and cranked while turning the mixture screw and working the throttle....but wouldn't run. The plug got black but wasn't wet. I did notice something right when I was cleaning up for dinner...the oil is overfilled. I drained some of it off but it was coming out of the dipstick hole. If this is the root cause (too much oil) I think I will cry. I'll let you guys know tomorrow hopefully after I can dump it to the right level.
