I did it using a set of tire irons and rim protectors (and yes, it was a pain-in-the-you-know-what) it wasn't so much getting the Chinese tires off, as getting the European tires ON (the rubber is much thicker and not anywhere near as flexible.) That said, at least I didn't have to take them anywhere to be switched. Filling them with air was another matter. No matter what method I used (as in a ratcheting strap and air pump) filling them proved impossible until I broke down and got an air compressor at "Home Despot" (they filled up in a flash after that) It might be cheaper to take them somewhere, but you still are either going to take the wheels off first or have the dealer do it for you. P.S. The thing of it is since I now have the (hard won) knowhow and tools it's just easier to have the tires shipped to me and pop them on myself.

Yep. Off the rim you can squeeze a Chinese tire like a nerf ball, but just try it with a Pirelli, like trying to squeeze a block made of oak.

Well you could just do what I did. A Pirelli in the back and an Avon Viper Strike up front. (BTW, I also found that even though my front and rear tires were the same size, the rear rim was made for a wider tire to begin with.)

Yikes!....And this happened right here in the valley. Next time a chain and tracker unit. (I don't see how a torn seat and popped ignition make it "Unsalvageable")

Of course it's TRUE! Didn't you guys know that a Genuine scooter comes with an Austin Powers style "Mojo" as standard equipment? I've got to return mine,,,,something is seriously wrong with it,,,i didn't get any of that stuff,,,just a nice ride with very little trouble and good mileage,,,but no babes,,,it's gotta go back,,,,,lol Looks like there's going to have to be a massive recall at Genuine!

If the bike had been really bad JuJu you'd have been in serious jeopardy (read ambulance ride) . I concur with the other poster, I think the old parts were damaged. Remember Chinese scooters aren't bad, just misunderstood. BTW, didn't you used to go by "chromestarhustler"?

Only this Hello Kitty keeps a bayonet sharp metal rod under the car seat in case you don't happen to appreciate her girly charms. I don't remember mentioning my lightning rod here. Only it's not under the seat, it's down the side. Never underneath, it's too hard to grab it in need. >'Kat You mentioned it years ago. (Sorry, it's just my elephant memory acting up again)

Most of the MLP would destroy hello kitty . hello kitty is just a model , she takes pics with guns , but has no clue how to use one. She has her on guitar , but has no clue how to play . she is just a kitty model who likes to lay back on the beach , but never gets a tan . Only this Hello Kitty keeps a bayonet sharp metal rod under the car seat in case you don't happen to appreciate her girly charms.

This reminds me of a story told to me while riding with a London cabbie. (concerning how criminals are treated in the UK vs. US) He said that he and his wife had been visiting in New York city and witnessed someone being robbed, and went on to say how the police had shot the perpetrator right on the spot. He ended the story with an admiring "Wish we could do that 'ere"
