I think a woman got 40,000 miles on a Genuine Buddy . The trick to long life is simple , break in in right , keep the oil fresh and do not abuse it . I have had around 20 or 2T 49cc like Garelli , Puch , Tomos , several Hondas , a Spree . Elite , Express and Urban Express and they seem superior to most of the new scooters as far as reliability . Now the pedal mopeds are much slower and drag go up hill since they use a single speed chain drive instead of a CVT . The Urban Express I rode it mostly with a passenger and since I had so many I would have group rides on my toys . The Urban Express never once had anything done to it besides tires and brake shoes and one headlight . I rode the Spree for 2 years hard like any 18 year old would . I bought it wrecked and had to replace the forks and front tire . All it ever needed was tires later and shoes too . I was so used to Honda that when I bought a TaoTao Atm I had a meltdown when the piston cracked on the second day and blew up 6 weeks later . I put on a Air Sal 50mm BBK as I had no interest in another piston kit made out of butter and recycled pot metal .
After that nightmare I decided to research scooters before making another mistake . Yes I love Hondas but for that much money I could get a used Honda Civic or 600cc cruiser . What is funny is I joined SD right when the piston exploded ( 2nd time ) and posted a fuss on it and my scooter dealer replied not knowing it was me at the time and I thought it was ironic that I said you will get to see it Tuesday as they are closed on Mondays . I read reviews on the CFMoto Echarm and Glory which he tried to sell me to me the first time buy saying how much better they are but I only had a grand to spend as I hated putting 80 a week in gas in my van . So far I am at 15,300 miles with no problems and is still a beast as it is one of the fastest 150s ever .
Most run into trouble when they make a change to the exhaust or airfilter resulting in it being too lean and burn up the piston . Since the 50s are restricted a larger main jet or a unsealed carb is a safe mod and safer than being borderline lean with the factory settings . Now you can change roller weights and be fine as long as not too light to were the engines revs high too much or too heavy to where it strains going up hill . Change the engine oil and gear lube first thing before riding it and never go over 1,000 miles without changing the oil . Many replace the fuel line and vacuum hoses and fuel filter with common automotive fuel line and any standard fuel filter . I like the golden cones myself . Put a NGK sparkplug preferably iridium type but standard is good too as some come with a Torch brand of plug and NGK is the only brand to use

I was taught to use Craftsman and have plenty but I can not resist a cheap expendable tool buy

I have Kobalt metric socket set under my seat a few multi tools from Lowes . I still love going to Harbor Freight adding to my tool collection as one can never have too many tools

Yes indeed along with a hyper transport option and 30mm cannons . Might opt for passenger ejection seat LOL . Check out the MRP review of the Echarm on You Tube

It is a simple switch to replace around 4 dollars under the lever

I looked at Harbor Freight but their air horns were 20 amps or more . My Echarm can make my ears ring as it is so darn loud

My Echarm header is larger than a GY6 as a muffler for a 250 I had to bore out the adapter . The bonus is it has a bung hole for an o2 sensor if you want to go with EFI

My manual says 80 MPG but MPG will vary on how fast I go . Having EFI and 16s makes a big diff in how it performs . 35 PSI and premium fuel only

The 4T model ? Check the oil level . Running to lean like air leak in the intake or exhaust will make it run hot . If the timing got advanced it can do so as well . If the oil pump is clogged it may be preventing oil from pumping

In Sc we can ride tandem in a single lane . It reminds me of rhe TV show CHiPS from the 80s

I mostly ride alone but to me it is more fun to have at least another scooter buddy . It is more peaceful when alone but so much fun to race another
