Thank you for the advice guys. I took it apart the past weekend and the problem seems to have been a combination of a blown bulb and blown fuse. All seems ok for now

Thanx for the offer John. I would like to try yes. I can however only do that next weekend as scooter is at my folks' house at the moment. Relying on public transport at the moment.

That is possible yes just worried because it is both low and high beam as well as the tail running light. Sorry just a paranoid first time owner

Thanx. so my best option is to take it down to my local bike shop to have it checked out?
Would it be advisable to buy a new battery before hand and test it since I would have to buy one anyway or not?

I have a Jonway Spray 125. The head light works when the engine is switched off. I arrived home one day turned off the engine and as it was dark left my headlights on while pushing the scooter to its resting place. As i turned around a corner the lights just died without warning. I parked it and the next morning I found my battery had been sucked dry. All blinkers and all work while in ignition just not the head lights. What I found was that the rear brake light works but not the running light. Lights do not return even with the motor running. Could it just be that the battery is old? scooter is 4 years old. The lights did not dim just die all of a sudden. Can I rule out my stator as the scooter was off when the lights stopped working?
