I'll double check what feeler gauge I used and get back to you... Right now I don't have gas in the tank. The petcock must be broken because gas was coming out of both the gas line and vacuum line. I've been using starter fluid in the carb's intake and I've also tried putting it directly in the spark plug hole.
thanks for the help.

Thanks, I changed the valves to .03mm. I'm getting a spark while grounding the plug against the motor. I'm using starter fluid in the plug hole and airbox, cranking with a fully charged battery and still nothing.
Anything else I should try?? Thanks

I got a 50cc Peace Sport Scooter in the fall in non-running condition. I was told it was probably an easy fix (haha). I recently had the chance to play with it and I can't seem to get it started. Here's what I've done so far:
-new battery -new spark plug -adjusted valves to .005" -new fuel filter -disassembled and cleaned carb
The engine has enough compression to pop my finger off the plug hole, spark seems adequate and it appears to be getting fuel. Even with starter fluid I can't get this thing to fire. What am I missing? I have the scoot on the center stand and the rear brake squeezed although I don't think it has a safety switch.
Thanks!
