Would like to know about how many miles you can ride before the drive belt should be changed on a TAO 50cc i also keep very good track of oil changes and gear oil changes and i do not run it to death

Had 950 miles on engine had to have valves adjust,was ok until about 1100 miles tap started again not as bad as before,but starting to tap agian,what could cause the valves to come back out of adjustment,what kind of oil,was told 10w40 deisel oil.
